Some of the first evidences of an abstract and symbolic language can be found in cave paintings[4]. Many archaeologists believe that shamans[5] were responsible for creating these cave paintings, and that these shamans were in some kind of hallucinogenic trance while they painted. These trances could very well have been induced by magic mushrooms, as many of the shamans of the indigenous peoples today use magic mushrooms in their rituals. Religious doctrines and complex moral codes are also early evidences of an abstract and symbolic language. It is however somewhat difficult to understand how religious doctrines and complex moral codes that seem to suppress parts of our instinctive behavior could have arisen. We are the only known species that have a behavior that is somewhat alienated from our instincts.

To summarize: McKenna theorizes that as the North African jungles receded toward the end of the most recent ice age, giving way to grasslands, a branch of our tree-dwelling primate ancestors left the branches and took up a life out in the open -- following around herds of ungulates, nibbling what they could along the way.

Among the new items in their diet were psilocybin-containing mushrooms growing in the dung of these ungulate herds. The changes caused by the introduction of this drug to the primate diet were many -- McKenna theorizes, for instance, that synesthesia (the blurring of boundaries between the senses) caused by psilocybin led to the development of spoken language: the ability to form pictures in another person's mind through the use of vocal sounds.

The torus pattern is found everywhere because it has to be. It is one of the basic building blocks of the universe.

A mushroom is a torus.

A penis is a torus.

A atomic bomb cloud is a torus.

A human being with it's hands at it's sides is a torus if you ignore the details and just see a tall column with a head on top.

A bullet that hits an object turns into a torus. They even call the effect "The head of the bullet mushroomed".

Everything in the universe has a torus in it somewhere. The reason is very simple if you consider how a torus is constructed.

The universe is made of waves. A wave is a two dimensional representation of a spiral. Everything in the universe is made of waves, which means everything in the universe is made of spirals.

The mushroom and its proponents get the same treatment as the one who discovered Orgone Energy, Wilhelm Reich, and for the same reason.

Reading his book, Ether, God and Devil", which happens to be the book that was found open on his desk when Albert Einsten, as friend of Reich, died. Hope he found it as inspiring as I do.

Cannot recommend the book highly enough, there are no words in English that suit. English has been destroyed by advertising, where every smelly sneaker or bubble gum is "amazing" and "awesome".

There is so much to learn, and a big clue you are on the right path is when something you learn makes many, many other subjects suddenly make perfect sense. That eureka moment.
