Martial Law as a Practical Matter
A common thread I have noticed on GLP is that everything seems to lead to martial law. But, if you really think about it, martial law nationwide is impractical, if not impossible. According to the Census folks, there are 251 cities in the US with populations over 100,000. The U.S military can not possibly hope to control the entire US. State Guard units will follow the orders of their governors. There are not enough troops to control this country.

Any declarations of martial law would have to be local and temporary.

Just my opinion.

Re: Martial Law as a Practical Matter
I agree, I had a thread saying that Martial Law is impossible. There isnt as much law as people. People make the guns, former soilders would lead commando teams. Alot of soilders will quit and give alot of info needed to defeat the martial law. We can have ourselves under a state of martial law, but otherwise we are to many, just as crazy as the Military for them to have us on lock down.

In desperate situations the police can be overwhelmed. But alot of lives would be lost indeed if they tried on both sides. STALEMATE

Re: Martial Law as a Practical Matter
Itīs not that difficult to declare martial law.
All it needs is some catastrophic occurrence to send people to the shelters where havoc happens like it did in New Orleans. Then people will beg for martial law to keep order and forget they are the little people who will suffer under suh law.

They have had alot of time to study human nature. Ala mk ultra and other programs. Using Marshall law as a tool is just the beginning. You can actually pen the sheep by putting certain cities under control and the rest will follow.

Their plan probably will be implemented against less than 251 cities. They only need to level martial on remaining cities.

And donīt fool yourself into thinking that this country is still made up of educated, self-sufficient, freedom-loving individuals. The patriots who started this country are long gone. Only the sheeple live here now.

Re: Martial Law as a Practical Matter
Itīs one thing to DECLARE martial law, and another to ENFORCE it.

There would be many defections from the national military. Local military would be real hard pressed to fire upon their friends and family.

I see the possibility of martial law in a city like NY or LA, cities where something like a flu might get a hold in this country. And this is understandable, since people arent prepared to stay in their homes for a few weeks to let something blow over.

There are more people out there that are prepared than you might think.

Anyone who doesnt have a few months of food and water (and ammo) readily available (immediately) is asking for trouble.

People...if you are prepared for a several week seige, then you have nothing to worry about. Martial law will blow over when the threat has passed. Lay low, eat your rice and beans, read a good book, play with the kids, and enjoy the time you have with your family...ALL because you had the foresight to put up a few weeks or months work of supplies.

Here is the best advice you can get for food storage:

Store what you eat...eat what you store.

And number 2:

Rotate, rotate, rotate.
