And like ancient Rome before its collapse, the Anglo-American rulers are desperately seeking to expand what the writer Philip K. Dick termed the ‘Black Iron Prison’. However, the West at its zenith can only be the ‘evening land’, the place where the Sun sets to rise again in the East. We hardly manufacture a damn thing. Labor and manufacturing are exported to the emerging third world. We import most of our energy needs. The bread and circuses are going on daily with the help of a puppet media. Unless we turn things around now...its not a matter of if we fall, but when under the weight of debt. I do not believe that we need to expand or take over anything to recover however. Some nations may be hurt by ending these so called free trade agreements, and through higher tarrifs. At least IMHO.
