I moved out of the big city 11 years ago.. Only move here if you can

1. pay in cash

2. can afford to move someplace with no jobs

3. can afford to set up a new off the grid base with solar power ($30k +) and are right over an aquifer

4. have family or some group to partner with as it would not be fun to defend what you have without help

5. Are prepared to work hard and deal with harsh weather..it is not getting easier as we age.

6. Have a plan for home schooling as the schools suck..if you have kids.

7. Develop a hobby or cottage industry you can do off the grid.. like making candles, raising livestock.

8. Take your hard earned investment money and purchase Water storage units, fuel storage units, food storage facilities and lots of building materials now while you can..and fill them.

9. Read up on Survival skills and how to repair mechanical items.

10. Start an exercise program and get off of all medications and anti depressants and booze and cigs.
There..now you can make your plans..

Agree with most of what you say up until the point where you claim that "WE can write a different ending." The "ending" was foretold long ago, by those whom Lucifer controls, and by the prophets who received visions, oracles, and revelations from the Most High God!
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 4342402

Not arguing with that. It is written and it will come to pass. But although it looks like it's a 99.99% chance of happening now...perhaps if the people wake up and fight against the moral/societal/financial degradation we as a society have let slip in due to our ignorance, complacency, and unwillingness to do anything about the approaching and now encroaching evil, perhaps the above can be DELAYED.
 Quoting: MARTIAL LAW

Who are those behind the moral/societal/financial degradation? Those involved in creating the old, and the new, politcal/sociological/economic "systems"? They're going to solve humanities basic, fundamental, inherited, main problem, that being humanities carnal nature? Sorry, but thats not going to happen.

What does this mean for Joe American...his savings account, 401K? Do we spend it now?
 Quoting: allegro

I'm not giving financial advise, but I wouldn't trust my 401k. If you're planning on leaning on that during the coming crisis, you're going to find yourself in huge trouble. Sure the FED will more than likely step in and print in again unprecedented fashion but not after much pain. Your 401k may be inflated back up with the stock market but what will be the purchasing power of the dollar? Gotta start looking at it like that. Forget where the markets are, your 401k, other portfolios, they are dollar denominated assets (that will be drastically inflated by a devalued dollar) and in a currency crisis will SUFFER.
 Quoting: MARTIAL LAW

YUP! The only safe thing is a manufacturer of essential goods and services. And now that America is pretty much ONLY a service manufacturer, we are pretty much screwed. The best thing you could do is go out and buy a farm, but that's not an option any more for most of us, thanks to mega farms destroying all the smaller farms...

American Default: One City At A Time

If you thought the derivatives debt game had leveled out in the U.S., and that the worst was over, think again. The bankruptcy of MF Global, a far larger company than Lehman Brothers, has signaled a new resurgence of bank weakness. However, the real danger behind the MF situation is not necessarily its failure, but how it has been hiding its failure.

 Quoting: MARTIAL LAW

Question for you: How do you come to the conclusion that MF Global is a far larger company than Lehman was?

Lehman had 59 billion in revenue and 691 billion in assets in the year leading up to the collapse.

MF Global only had 1 billion in revenue and only 42 billion in assets while leading up the their collapse.

The Lehman bankruptcy was the largest bankruptcy in the US. MF Global is the 8th largest bankruptcy in the US.

I'm not sure I understand where you are coming from. Thanks.
 Quoting: Beherenow

i didn't write the article...perhaps the author meant more leveraged than Lehman..because they certainly are.

BUT, in Hosea, you do find Israel being likened to a whore that goes after other gods, and eventually comes back. (Judah{jewish people} stayed true unlike the other 11 tribes) That's the only place I see where a whore eventually becomes the bride in scriptures...

I've seen that Marc Faber 5-10 yr thing. But I think it depends on where u live. If your in a heavily integrated area, your world could collapse by late next summer. I hear they get about $4.50 a day for food stamps. That won't buy much in a year or two so many will turn to crime or worse....
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 2926765

Faber is referring to the end game...which IMO is more like a max of 3-4 years away. The in-between will be brutal, no doubt about it. There is no return to normalcy, and once the majority of the population realizes this, is when the situation intensifies. The new normal will be an economy on deathwatch, bouncing around from crash to crash (each closer and closer) until the endgame.

Also, there was a CNBC post last week about a think tank saying there is a good chance of a banking crisis on/around that date:

There is a 65 percent chance of a banking crisis between November 23-26 following a Greek default and a run on the Italian banking system, according to analysts at Exclusive Analysis, a research firm that focuses on global risks.

Re: If You Thought The Worst Was OVER, Think AGAIN.

Not only was MF making risky bets with borrowed money without disclosure, and “window dressing” their quarterly reports to fool investors, but they have also been caught siphoning capital from client accounts to pay off the massive liabilities they have accrued.

These kinds of activities are what we usually call “fraud”. But with a company like MF Global, whose reputation was once considered sterling, a much more important and terrifying question arises; how many other banks are doing the same exact thing?

My guess is all of them.

MF Global’s implosion places doubt on all major banking institutions and the legitimacy of their reported health, which means Americans have a lot of soul searching to do as far as where they actually choose to put their savings. But the return of the credit and derivatives specter only hints at the issues ahead…

After the historic credit downgrade of the U.S. by ratings agency S&P, most investors absorbed the shock, then ignored the peril, and began throwing around cash with wild abandon yet again. What many of them have not taken into account, though, is that the downgrade is not over. S&P has stated it will extend the downgrade of the U.S. AAA rating to thousands of municipal bonds after Federal Budgetary issues are decided by the so called “Super Congress”:

[link to www.bloomberg.com]

These decisions are supposed to be announced by November 23rd; only weeks away. After the 23rd, S&P will begin examining state and city debt ratings on a case by case basis. The likelihood of multiple rating downgrades of numerous U.S. cities and counties is very high. These downgrades could lead to explosive levels of municipal bankruptcies. Being that some areas of the country have already filed for bankruptcy without S&P’s help, like Harrisburgh, PA, and Jefferson County, AL, the signs are not encouraging:

[link to money.cnn.com]

If you were wondering what the trigger would be for the next round of Federal Reserve quantitative easing, here it is; a combination of bank failure resurgence, along with city and state defaults leading to a clamoring for Federal funds just to stay in operation. Fiat injections in light of this event will dwarf previous measures. In fact, we may long for the days of TARP after the Fed has finished annihilating the dollar in order to plug thousands of ongoing municipal leaks in the hull of our sinking ship.

Make This Time Count

Everyone in the Liberty Movement is tired of dealing with the reality of economic disaster. Hell…I’m tired of writing about it. We know what’s coming. We know each scene of the play as if we had written and performed it before. And yet, we still at times find ourselves surprised, or even staggered, by the violent turning of events. Knowing that a train wreck is coming, and actually seeing it happen, are two very different things. Always keep this in mind…

There..now you can make your plans..

there have been great opportunities IF YOU PREPARE.

My grandfather bought all sorts of land in the last "great depression"

how? he had milk, and cows, and eggs and things people needed and were willing to pay money for.

contrast that when he was orphaned at the age of 15 in 1918 when his parents BOTH died in Spanish flu of 1918...

him and his brother were sent to live with some relatives and he was given TWO cows. they milked them, raised chickens and kept buying cows.

by the time the early 30's came along he had a thriving dairy and chicken farm and bought LOTS of land...

be ready
