Re: Thanksgiving = Sweeping The Ugly Truth Under the Rug
It's pretty silly to say that anyone who celebrates Thanksgiving with their family is in fact celebrating killing indians. Whatever happened long ago, had nothing to do with anyone alive today. You always say you are a Christian Lisa, and yet I always see you tell others they are wrong because they don't believe like you do.

You can post what you believe, that's fine, but please don't berate others for not sharing your opinion. And no where in the Bible does it say that Jesus went to America, I'm part Native American myself, even I view this as silly. I'll take Gods Word over someone elses any day.

Since our history has most likely been re-written to suit SOMEONE'S agenda, we will NEVER know the truth.

You can argue all you want about who did what to the indians, or that the indians were beasts, etc...

We will never know.

So instead, stop celebrating American (man made) holidays at your own house. Just stop.
It's the only way to be rid of it in your life.

Give out all the links you want proclaiming the "real" truth, but who is to say it really is the truth?

What we did to the American Indians was horrible.

Thanksgiving was a time when we got along with the Indians because we needed their help.

Dont forget there are tribes up in Canada and the Canadians did NOT treat them much differently.

americans will get pay back tho...happening now

Re: Thanksgiving = Sweeping The Ugly Truth Under the Rug
Thanksgiving does not celebrate the destruction of first people culture. It was a celebration of the early european immigrants for their deliverance. Today's Thanksgiving is an excuse to have sales to sell crap for Christmas.

Thanksgiving = Sweeping The Ugly Truth Under the Rug.

The atrocities that were done against the Indian people were horrific and cruel. Atleast recognize the truth about this "holiday". To deny it is another insult to the Indians that were slaughtered and forced out of their homes and their land. They were kicked out of the land that was theirs for hundreds of years, sent away on a "trail of tears" to unknown territory where many died on the way, and many others died when they got there from diseases and starvation. It never should have happened.

Jesus warned the Indians of the white man that would come with "sticks that killed from a distance". He cried when He told them about what white man would do to them because He knew! He knew about the murders, the atrocities that white man was going to do to the Indian people! He knew that their land would be stolen from them, many would die and life would never be the same for them again!

Yet, this lie of thanksgiving goes on, like nothing ever happened. In schools, children dress up like pilgrims and indians..and everybody is happy.....but nobody mentions the death and horror that really occurred.

How would the Jewish people feel if nobody ever acknowledged the holocaust? How would the Christians feel if nobody acknowledged our people being fed to the lions? How would Veterans feel if nobody remembered the vets that died in the wars?

It happened.......and it's a sad and sorry part of our history that just gets swept under the rug like it never even happened.

If people want to celebrate "thanksgiving", then it should be a memorial for all of the Indians that were murdered and abused at the hands of white man because that's the truth, that's honest and that's the right thing to do.

"Some aspects of the conventional story are true enough. But it's also true that by 1637 Massachusetts Gov. John Winthrop was proclaiming a thanksgiving for the successful massacre of hundreds of Pequot Indian men, women and children, part of the long and bloody process of opening up additional land to the English invaders. The pattern would repeat itself across the continent until between 95 and 99 percent of American Indians had been exterminated and the rest were left to assimilate into white society or die off on reservations, out of the view of polite society.

Simply put: Thanksgiving is the day when the dominant white culture (and, sadly, most of the rest of the non-white but non-indigenous population) celebrates the beginning of a genocide that was, in fact, blessed by the men we hold up as our heroic founding fathers.

The first president, George Washington, in 1783 said he preferred buying Indians' land rather than driving them off it because that was like driving "wild beasts" from the forest. He compared Indians to wolves, "both being beasts of prey, tho' they differ in shape." Thomas Jefferson” president #3 and author of the Declaration of Independence, which refers to Indians as the "merciless Indian Savages" — was known to romanticize Indians and their culture, but that didn't stop him in 1807 from writing to his secretary of war that in a coming conflict with certain tribes, "[W]e shall destroy all of them."

Yes, the romans did horrible things to the Christians, The Spanish inquisition did horrible things to people who were not Christian, Islamists conquered large parts of the world, Africans did horrible things to their people including selling their own people to America, who then did horrible things to them. The Germans did horrible things to the jewish people. The English did horrible things to the Irish. America did horrible things to the Indians.

From what I have read, Christians stole the pagan holiday date for the date of Christmas. Christians did horrible things to pagans. I could go on and on and on! We have a large family gathering at Thanksgiving with almost every one of those ethnicities, relegions, etc. represented. If we took the time to tell each other sorry, we would be there all night. My point? Most people now celebrate Thanksgiving as a time to give thanks, which is what we need to be doing all year, but it is a start.

I am tired of being told I should feel guilty for all the things America has done. Everyone look at their own Ethnicity, and ask yourself the commom denominator; Oh, it's humanity. This crap will go on forever, and the way I see it, all we can do is try to do the right thing ourselves.

Lotta hate on this thread.

Let us remember that the door went both ways. The Native Americans (for real, calling them Indians when they are not from India is retarded) were fucking badasses. They were not just some helpless calm peaceful people that were victimized by the white man.

They were precision hunters who could kill anything in the woods with their bows and knives. They were like ghosts among the trees, appearing and disappearing without a sound. They were strong hand to hand fighters and one on one without a gun, you were dead where you stood.

After your death, they would drink your blood and consume your heart and they would gain all the strength in your body.

My great-great grandmother was a tiny little 4'9" Native American woman and to save her children from a bear she beat it with a broom handle to the face until it stopped fighting and left to lick its wounds.

She faced that bear with no real weapon, only the courage in her heart, something that is strongly lacking in this thread.

You can say all you want that the Native Americans were victims, but that will not make it true. They fought with all of the ferocity and courage and fury and tenacity that can be asked of any human and to this day their tribes remain, not as they were, but as close as they can be in this day and age.

Encyclopedias dated back in the late 1800s show that the first Thanksgiving may have been during the Feast of Tabernacles. After all the pilgrims were Sabbath keepers & kept the festivals of Lev. 23, this is why they left England because the king of England wanted Sunday observance along with all of the pagan holidays.

I don't count it all bad.

Re: Thanksgiving = Sweeping The Ugly Truth Under the Rug
Hello,

My great maybe a few more greats grandmother, an Indian Chieftain's daughter, had blue eyes and light hair. There is a painting of her that i saw: I have a miracle-like story to tell about how i got to see her picture. We, the Dutch from Holland, settled in the Northeast. The Englishmen preferred the Dutch girls to the English girls so we finally became mostly English.

When the Asiatic tribes entered "North America", they encountered blue-eyed (and i believe blond) people; they then killed, all these white people, except for the ones they married and enslaved.
[link to princemadoc.com]

My grandmother was a "Shin". She was “American” looking and her children were all blue-eyed w/black hair; taking after the father's (Dutch/English) eyes and the mother's hair. She only had one baby that was pure American Indian (Asiatic), but the tiny, baby died of pneumonia (little Leona). She also had a son that made it to adulthood, but finally died of lung disease; no he didnot smoke. At sixteen after his mother, died of colon cancer, he was placed in the Hamburg Institution for Tuberculosis; a Chinese surgeon did surgery on him and saved his life. Pneumonias and Tuberculosis hound the pure, American Indians real bad like.

When I was a small child I was hounded with croup, but they had just invented Sulpha and Penicillin. I was put to bed for weeks; the doctor treated me with both the Sulpha and the Penicillin and cured me completely. My brother contracted whooping cough, but got over it and grow to retirement. Two of my children lived with severe asthma, but got over it. The lungs in the American Indian are susceptible to filth, which whiteman emits in his lifestyle of indoor and crowded living.

In the American tribes is found the oldest blood lines in the world. Iam RH negative, but completely European looking. My mother was of the rarest blood in the world - something like ab neg. She lost a baby (little Lawrence) to the RH problem that once plagued mankind, but doesnot any more [back then they called them “Blue Babies”].

Only one of my children picked up a definite trait of the pure, American “Indian”. He had no facial hair, nor chest hair, and as a teenager, was able to grow very long, fly-away, not stiff, straight hair.

Many will say the white woman found in the tribe was do to European invasion, however since it was the daughter of a Chieftain it would have had to be a pure-blooded member of the tribe. In other words the mother would have had to be known to be pure blooded and unblemished.
[link to whitelocust.wordpress.com]

Among the savage tribes of the world, I would imagine anything rare as a white would definitely go to the top man of the tribe or would have been feed to the gods.

White tigers for example and white buffalo are very rare.
Under controlled environments white can be dominant:
See Freckles, among the newest and rarest kitties on earth:

I finally have two out of him and theyare the most beautiful things ihave ever seen in my life, and entirely different from any animal ihave ever owned. Their intelligence, attentiveness, gentleness and big, blue eyes are entirely human. Their delicate, silky, longish fur borders on the color of white, human skin. He has produced over a dozen offspring and only three have made it out of the nest, one of which is a throwback, which i doubt will make into full adulthood.

Well anyway for all practical purposes iam an “Indian”, modern day Indian though I may be, but still “Indian”, and I love Thanksgiving. As a matter of fact I donot celebrate my good fortune, and give thanks on a Holiday, only, but put it in my prayers every night, and you would too if you knew what I know.

thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, i have always thought of it as time of quiet reflection, friends, family, gratitude for everything i have. nor do i associate with what has been done to the indian. however, lisa has a point, the best way to insure another genocide somewhere is deny the past.

also to imply that native americans somehow deserved there fate because they;
fought among themselves
worshipped other gods
did not own the land

these are qualifications that astound me.

finally, i am an american. i own my history, much that i am proud of, much that i am not, and so it rankles me to hear those from the u k chide us for our darker side.

have they forgotten that the british and their life long friends in peace, the french and spanish {sarcasm intended} not content to endlessly slaughter each other in europe, brought their grudges to the new world. so clever were they in their use of the indians, pitting one tribe against onother to achieve their ends.

europe , we are your great and great, great grandchildren, you taught us every thing we know about genocide.

Indians showed no mercy upon other tribes, They did things to their POWs thats never been documented amongst white people
They practiced spiritism that led to frightening demonic possession, like voudou and the lifestyle was harsh and not something anyone would want

People have the rose colored glasses, like expecting to see Kevin Costner wearing Indian skins and riding over the plains, And hes going to sweep a woman off her feet and into his teepee.

American Indians were a Warrior Culture, and not all that noble as the history revisionists want us to believe.
They relied on stealth and ambush when attacking even innocent people.
In other words, they would jump out and cut your throat if they could.
Thanksgiving was an attempt at reconciliation, but the other Cutthroats didn't get the memo, so they fucked it up for everyone else, and all got their collective asses handed to them.
Yes, fucked up shit was done, but you don't send Mr Milktoast to play nice with blood thirsty killers.

TOUGH TO ARGUE WITH THIS ONE!

Indian Chief 'Two Eagles' was asked by a white government official, 'You have observed the white man for 90 years. You've seen his wars and his technological advances. You've seen his progress, and the damage he's done.'

The Chief nodded in agreement.

The official continued, 'Considering all these events, in your opinion, where did the white man go wrong?'

The Chief stared at the government official for over a minute and then calmly replied. 'When white man find this land, Indians running it, no taxes, no debt, plenty buffalo, plenty beaver, clean water. Women did all the work, Medicine man free. Indian man spend all day hunting and fishing; all night having sex.'

Then the chief leaned back and smiled.

Yes, they did, It was so horrible, it could only be under the influence of their drugs and demon possession and reflection of their harsh lifestyle.

The biggest Secret to all this, is that 'White Eye' was here First!

White Eye was the Pyramid builder, the calendar maker, etc.

White Eye (white people) was/Are the Native Americans!

Search Pre Clovis, There were people here long before the Clovis people that used to be considered 'native Americans'.

Search Kennewick, 9000 year old White man corpse found.

Search Ainu, White 'Boat People' that escaped America to an Island in NE Asia.

Search Solutrean, European DNA and Stone tool technology.

Learn about those caves in the Grand Canion, with unusually tall white mummies and other relatively 'high tech' stuff in there. And all the other Red Headed and tall corpses found here and there.

I think you might find 'White Eye' in some of the Histories of the 'Indians' them selves.

This is the biggest difference between the Truth and the 'Politically Motivated' Bullshit we have been fed.

White Man didnt Invade America. White Man Returned!

But,, we also didnt really come here to kill and conquor, we 'settled' and defended ourselves. And we did then 'multiply' and over run the place.
{Just like the Africans and Hispanics are doing today}
Had we not been returning to a place we had been mostly killed and partly driven off of, this Would have been more or less as bad as anyone has claimed.

But being as it was, a return to our homeland, that was much more violently taken from us in the first place,,. It was 'righteous'.

That doesnt mean we should treat the Indians who live here today, as the Enemies their ancestors were. They themselves found theirselves here at birth. 1dunno1 its not really their fault what their ancestors did. And they do now have some of the 'blood' of those they conquored.

But, it is 'Right' that 'White Man' Rule the country of his origin.

Re: Thanksgiving = Sweeping The Ugly Truth Under the Rug
way to go lisa lisa... you have fallen for tptb biggest scam: good ole hate whitey christians. nevermind that the 'indians' were heathens and worshipped demon gods... you do know that the pilgrims considered themselves israelites and america was their promised land.

who do you think writes the false history that you now embrace? why should this surprise me.. you follow once4all around like a lapdog not once questioning 'the spirits' he is communicating with. 1 john 4 says to test the spirits.

1Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

2Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:

3And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

4Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

WWJD?

So...you're thinking Jesus would have said..."Destroy these people mercilessly in my name, and take from them all that you want...for they are heathens!"
 Quoting: The Grand Illusion

He would have asked the demons to depart. And hed teach them what he was taught, Carpentry, How to build houses and furniture, How to build tables and utensils to sit and eat on. In Israel they reclined on a type of couch or cushions to eat.

How to have crops of wheat, agriculture and ranch animals.

He would take them out of the hunting fields and make them civilized.
