I am not writing this to belittle any of you folks whom believe as you do, but your title brought back many memories of those times when I witnessed many whom were saved.

Now put this in perspective, I was a little kid, an orphan as well as abused in ways that that almost left me dead by ten, but getting there was truly an adventure and there were good times and bad. This telling brings back a smile from times in which smiles did not often find the light.

I spent many Sundays taken by others to save us from the evils of this life. This was in the 40's, yes they did that back then as well. My brother and I would watch in fascination as folks came up to the alter and got emotionally saved, including my brother, repeatedly all the way up into high school. For some reason, even as a young boy, I held my own, even when I was the only one in the church left with the preacher yelling at me and Jesus loves you song, hypnotically being sung over and over. My brother ended up a criminal and I became a productive citizen by the way.

Nope can't say I ever have been saved, either in church, barns, tents and other sundry places in which I was taken, but as a little kid, I watched grown adults, do strange things and wondered at the array of women's underwear as they rolled all over the floor, speaking in weird tongues. I would not trade this experience for anything, it is true history, like it or not as well as most interesting.
