If growing up means no guns, I hope I never grow up. Hillary and Barry are working overtime to figure out how to get our guns. Our forefathers were smart enough to make sure we could keep guns. They didn't do it so we could shoot up a bunch of targets. They did it so we could defend ourselves against a government that has grown too big and too powerful. That day may be coming soon. I hope most of the people haven't "grown up" because we may need the guns. I hope you enjoy the FEMA camps. I'm sure you will be comfortable with the other sheeple.

That already happened a looong time ago, and I don't see y'all 'cowboys' attacking your government. Not now, not anytime soon.

Not that there's nothing wrong with that, your arguement is just not very convincing for me.

Interior Will Not Ban Target Practice
November 17, 2011

Under fire from gun owners concerned about draft guidelines that could limit areas for target practice on western public lands, the Interior Department today said it would make sure shooters still have access to lands long available for firearms recreation.

"Our goal is to leave lands open to shooting," said an Interior official for the Bureau of Land Management, which is drafting guidelines to deal with the growing clash between skittish urbanites moving to western wilderness areas and America's tradition of letting gun owners shoot targets on public lands. [Read: Obama Pushing Shooters Off Public Lands.]

"We don't want to have to close any areas," said an official as BLM provided Washington Whispers with a statement clarifying the developing guidelines.

It's our land? Why in the hell wouldn't we be able to shoot on it? Because a bunch of whiny ass city pansy asses are scared of the bang bang noise?

Bleh...fuck'em. Let'em pee all over themselves.
 Quoting: Chip

For many years people have figured out how to avoid getting in someone else's way. If the hikers heard gun shots, they didn't walk there. If the shooters saw hikers, they didn't shoot there. It worked out quite well for a few decades that I know of. But now the militant tree huggers can't walk on the same mountain where some one is shooting. Where I shoot, there is a valley with many little side gullies that are perfect to keep bullets from getting away. I have never shot in the general direction of another person, but I have had tree huggers yell at me from across the valley. That's a mile as the crow flies, and I was shooting in the opposite direction. They were so far away they probably couldn't tell I flipped them the bird.
Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.

Re: HALLALUJA! Gun ban on government land being scrapped.
Today, when a concerted effort is made to obliterate this point, it cannot be repeated too often that the Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals—that it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government—that it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizens’ protection against the government.

The right to own a firearm, is based on the right to self-defense, i.e., the right to those means to defend oneself against those who wish to destroy one’s life. The right to self-defense is itself is a corollary of the right to life (a corollary is here defined as a self-evident implication of a general principle).

It would be absurd to say one has the right to life, but does not have the right to the means necessary to protect that life. It would be like saying one has the right to life, but not the right to purchase food. Yet, this is what opponents to the right to own a gun are really against: the right to life.

Unfortunately, it is the right to life, that is ignored in the debate over the right to bear arms, both by its opponents, and by its so-called defenders! As Alexander Maher writes in Capitalism Magazine:

“The field of battle on which gun control should be fought is exactly on this issue: man’s rights. Statistical arguments on gun control are a red herring — as the leftists’ appeals to hungry children or the environmentalists’ appeals to clean parks are also meant to distract their opponents from the fundamental issues at stake. While the National Rifle Association (NRA) and other defenders of the right to bear arms argue over statistics and interpreting the Constitution, the real issues remain untouched and are sacrificed to the enemies of our freedom.”

What happened in Germany started in the thirties, and the Weimar Republic found out the hard way that a big spending socialist government wont protect you when the neighbor moves in. They had there guns taken away and Germany just marched in and declared they were now Germans. Then the Nazis took the guns from the German people. The rest is history.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 5565255

Our founding fathers were actually much more specific than that. The right to keep and bear arms was to protect us from a grovenment grown too powerful. They never anticipated that we would be able to go over 200 years without another revolution. Maybe the long time between revolutions is why we are finding it so hard to stop our out of control government. We have grown complacent and forgotten what those inalienable rights were protected for. They are to keep us free. We have seen many of our rights taken away in the last 100 years, especially in the last 11 years. It is time to tell them we have given all we are going to. It's time to recover some of the rights we have lost. The outrage yesterday did some good, now we need to keep the pressure on.

God and the Constitution affirm my right to shoot my gun. The Constitution says I have that right and nobody can take that right away. The Supreme court says that is true on all government owned property. For those of you too fucking stupid to understand what that means, here is a little lesson on public property. That would include Washington DC, although they have been allowed to restrict guns. All national parks and BLM controlled properties. That would include national forests. Most of the people in the western United States practice and hunt on BLM land, including national forests. That has not presented a problem in the past, and it is not creating problems now. This move was just a step toward taking our guns away so they can control us more easily. Maybe that works for you fucking city dwelling assholes, but out here in Gods country, we will not stand for it.
As far as the FEMA camps are concerned, They take my body there after I run out of ammo. (That may take a while.)

It is, however, the liberal way! If they go somewhere and someone there is doing something THEY don't like (even if they're new and/or even if they don't intend to stay long) bitch and complain and demand that the local people accomodate you regardless of what God given common law rights.

If they are "skittish" maybe they should check out the injury and death figures for shooters versus other sports. Shooting is one of the safest sports in the world. More people are injured and killed playing the "stick and ball" sports than shooting. If safety is the reason for trying to limit our access to guns and shooting areas, maybe they should also ban baseball, football, basketball and soccer. If the urbanites want to be safe their best bet is stay off the roads and don't come out to the real world. driving is the most dangerous thing you can do. So, staying in the city would only make sense.

The right to bear arms does not give you the right to shoot them where ever you want.

Cant wait to see the day Americans start fighting for the right to shoot targets in central park.

Btw guns wont save you from fema camps unless you plan to use them on yourselves and your family.

You sir are an Idiot. First off, do you really think Jesus would own a gun? Do you think he would give you a gun, or praise you for owning one? NO of course not. 2nd- you need to make up your damn mind weather your talking about government land or public land, cause the more you change your story, the more you look like a fool. 3rd if you're the best example of "God's country"- not even going to go there. 4th Limiting areas for you to practice shooting your gun HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH YOUR RIGHT TO OWN A GUN. Go back to school.

There is a passage in the Bible about "beating your plow into a sword". Is there not?
I think it also has some very specific things to say about self defense. 2nd-the poster makes sense in every respect, perhaps you are the one who looks the fool. 3rd please stay away from the American west we have enough deranged hoplophobes. 4th limiting areas has everything to do with the right to own a gun, because they won't stop at this area or that area but will continue until there are no areas left at all. It is the slippery slope that people object to. I suggest you go back to school and learn some history. One of the facts you could learn would be that governments murdered 100 or so million of their own people in the 20th century. In every case the people were disarmed first. And this century seems to be on track.
