No. Well, you can believe what you want. I personally believe that our binary companion has swung through and scorched us with heat. Pluto began heating up 10 years ago. Mars began heating up shortly before we did. So, I don't think this has much of anything to do with humankind. These extinction events are cyclical, once every 30 million years, plus or minus. I think that's the orbital period of our companion.

We are PUNY compared to that. It's all about joules per square meter. The oceans have heated up from extra incoming energy. As they heat up, they go anoxic. I know you WANT to blame oil companies, or human activities, etc. I do too. But I think this is just the way it is. Fate, orbital periods. We're just not that powerful, just not that 'in control of things'. This is beyond us.

That said, sure, probably the greenhouse gases we've pumped into the atmosphere have made things worse. But not much. This was most likely inevitable, and would have happened no matter what we did.

But this is why the gubment doesn't seem to care about the Fukushima radiation. They DO care. But...priorities. If everyone is gonna be dead from hydrogen sulfide, does it matter that in ten years there will be more cancer? Not if there aren't any people left alive to HAVE cancer.

This explains everything, really. We thought we were so mighty, and yet simple ancient bacteria are going to wipe us out. If we survive this (as a species), we should learn humility. We are small.

It doesn't kill everything. Even in 'The Great Dying', 4% of ocean species survived, and 25% of land species. In fact, one species that survived was a man-sized piglike dinosaur. I'd like to know how it survived, so I can emulate whatever it did. Maybe lived in highlands and reproduced like crazy? I dunno. Wish I did.

cyclic -- every 30 million years? that is one large orbit. so you believe in nibiru? i thought the cycle was much smaller. i tend to think there is more variables in play. ancient civilizations were tens of thousands years old, appearing to be destroyed by cataclysm too. their mythos, cultures tend to illustrate similar things. there seems to be ample proof now of some humans not originating on this planet either. Also, isn't there ways to protect civilization from methane and hydrogen by simply building protective structures and cities to shield people? they even had gas mask in WWI to protect individuals from such things -- today... i don't think it's so black and white as this, I wish that were all humanity was facing. how long does this ELE last anyway?

Also, the BEST way to fight this problem off would be to extract the methane hydrates from the oceans BEFORE the ancient bacteria turn them into hydrogen sulfide. Doesn't matter much what we DO with the methane, just get it out of the ocean. Burn it as energy? Fine. That'd turn it into CO2 and add to the warming, which wouldn't be good, but it'd be a damn sight better than allowing it to turn into H2S and kill us all.

Or, just use lasers mounted on subs and blow the methane hydrates up. Quicker, and seeing how many people are now dropping dead, speed seems like a good idea to me. That might be what caused the Virginia quake. They may already be trying this. If so, I hope it works. Could produce explosions comparable to any nuke, and resulting quakes, if that's what's going on.

I don't care about names. I do think we have a companion and it's orbital period is very long. If it was 3600 years then the solar system would be in far worse shape. Gas masks don't help for H2S. I checked that myself a year ago when I realized the problem. You need a powered respirator connected to a known clean air supply. Nothing else works.

As far as the 'city shields' idea - might work. But then they'd have to admit to this problem, which would cause panic and a collapse of civilization. And isn't that essentially what underground cities are, anyway? Just instead of a dome, they use the ground itself.

I hope never. We are already beginning to drop like flies. 136 students dropped unconscious in Cambodia. The 22 in Houston. 5 more near Boston a few days ago. 1 to 3 a day students per day are being found in dorm rooms dead now.

But...they've got this hidden pretty well. Most people get their news from the teevee. You won't EVER see this on TV, none of these stories.

But it's a good question. I would guess that sometime in 2012, if not before, an entire city or town will drop dead. Probably a coastal area. The first time this happens it will be blamed on terrorists, domestic or otherwise. The second time it happens, I don't know - probably try 'terrorists' again. But the third, the fourth, the fifth? It will wear thin as an excuse. What will be the breaking point for people? That'll probably vary from individual to individual.

That's people being carted away as they die ONE-BY-ONE in their homes. The only sign of this is the sirens and the local obituary columns. The die-off is underway RIGHT NOW. I guarantee we never hit seven billion people. We may be closing in on SIX billion by now.

This is how 'they' plan for it to happen: quietly, under the radar, no panic, just a lot of people dying of pulmonary edema or heart attack or stroke, which is exactly what it looks like. And if an autopsy isn't performed within hours, which is unlikely, then all traces of the H2S are gone.

Remember Michelle Obama encouraging people to insulate their homes? This is probably why: so the gas doesn't leak through, into your home, and kill you in the night. She tried.
