lucid dreaming
just had one for the first time, fucking crazy!
wasn't quite what I expected, but im still kinda excited! :D

anyone have any experience with this?

and also, when I looked in the mirror, I "knew" I was looking at myself, but I looked slightly different, and my mouth was waaay out of sync lol.
then a woman appeared behind me in the mirror and I turned to see her, but I woke up as I approached her, this I didnt intend to do, to manifest a woman I mean.

also found out that, when I tried to make my walls transparrant to see grass/trees, I made it into the windows desktop background (the XP version) for some reason..well gotta work with that haha.

and walking is this state is like walking really fucking drunk, had to create some bars in my room to make it to my bathroom.

but a fucking insane feeling to be able to control your dream! :D

just wanted to share.

Re: lucid dreaming
Congrats man its an amazing feeling and experience. I once awoke inside a dream because I plugged my nose and was able to breathe through it (knowing that I couldn't if I was actually awake so I must be dreaming), and then my consciousness shifted and I had the most euphoric feeling, I then went to my balcony and jumped off and started to fly for a few seconds until I snapped backed into my body.

Re: lucid dreaming
nice experience :)
I didn't get the time to try flying, I must try that the next time.

It seems you "snap back" really fast, maybe with more practice it could be possible to have the experience last longer.

I was looking a lot of times in the mirror while having an OBE and I want to say that your reflection will depend on your level of awareness. The mirror shows your reflection only because you expect it too, the mirror in a OBE is not a mirorr per se. :D

Re: lucid dreaming
ive tried for some time, but I've never had it happend before.

most of the times I just dream, knowing im dreaming, but not "aware" that its just a dream, if that makes sence.

I have a few false awakenings, and it was one of these that triggered it, i just "knew" that this time it was a dream, its hard to explain.

then i looked at my hands, they looked normal at first, then started to "vibrate" and I wanted to sit up to get in to the experience, and it happend :o)

I havent been able to redo the experience yet, though I want to.

I found a guide I tried to follow, but it havent really worked for me, I was only able to "trigger" it in the false awakening state, and they are not as common as dream, im my case, in most dreams I realize im dreaming, but I fail to take control of it.

maybe this will help you.

flying is the best..... right out of the atmosphere and out past the galaxies. ive never reached the edge though.

lucidity came naturally for me. i had no idea what i was experiencing or that there was even a term for it until many years later.

i just thought i was going a bit whacko and perhaps had taken one too many hits of acid.

There is an easy way and that is you wake up and stay awake for 1 hour, check news email whatever, then go back to bed and you will have more dreams and are in a state of being aware while in them.

Now that is interesting. I hope I get a chance to try that. My dreaming is all screwed up lately. No lucid dreams in a while.

I've been practicing lucid for a while now, but I haven't been able to "control my dreams," right when I'm about to enter that state I start to have an OBE (astral projection) and I am not spiritually ready for those.
Anyways, that sounds like a trip!

5 stars and pin suggest....
smile_kisssmile_kisssmile_kisssmile_kisssmile_kiss

i lucid dream all the time, and have since i was young. it started with recurring dreams of these balls of bright light passing through me, first slowly then more quickly. i would lose my breath every time they passed. i was sitting on a platform, in complete darkness, and they would come at me. i would have this dream from the age of 6 or so, until my 20's. i still remember a dream i had when i was two, napping with my dad, when my parents' were still together.

but now i dream all the time of a particular town, house by a lake with two staircases and 5 cool bedrooms, a grocery store i usually shop at in my dream, and people. i don't know any of this in my waking life but i wish i could stay there,,,,

Hi Michael,

sorry about the long wait, lost track of this thread.

I do, I remeber looking into the mirror to see myself, then she appeared to the side of me, like in one of those asian thriller/spook movies.(she didnt look asian, as far as I recall, but it is hard to remember her facial traits 100%

I turned to face her and she looked pretty good!
slightly smaller than me, straight black/dark brown hair down to/slightly past her shoulders, and she appeared naked haha :D

to bad I woke up when I embraced her ;)
I havent seen her in any of my dreams again, not that I remember.

haha yeah I can relate, its a strange feeling! :)
wish I had thought of flying aswell, but I just went by the book, reality check hands/mirror, ill try to fly next time ;)

also, I think if you try to hard, you make it harder to achieve, I didnt plan to do it, it just happend.

When I planned to do it, and really focus on it, I got nothing.

find a balance between openess and focus I think, and practice/patience.
let go of the fear of not being able to return, you will return! and way too fast hehe.

Thats my best advice, but then again im a beginner.

Lucid dreams are the best! I only had the experience once and it was sooooooooooooooooo cool! Like something out of a movie. It happened to me after a long period of computer gaming. I'm 50 and started to get into PC games, mainly FPS..I totally believe gaming has rewired my brain. Pay attention to your dreams..great mental healing can occur.

yeah :) alot of the crazy things you see in dreams that doesnt make sence, might actually make sence when you think about it.

Its all something you create in your mind, though at times it feels like your watching someone elses drug trip ;)

Re: lucid dreaming
Recently I have become aware I am dreaming and if other people are in the dream I will confront them and tell them/ask them if they realise this is part of a dream. Another thing I do once I am conscious of dreaming is to change a scene or a direction or to become aware if I can see colours, smell, taste etc and then I make a mental note of it for example 'oh so I can feel air on my skin even when I am dreaming'.

Lucid dreaming is very new to me, I guess these are the early experiences but I look forward to progressing with it.

....I can only really remember about 15 or so vivid dreams now...although I did have a stage of kinda nightmares ones in which I was being chased, but that is common I'm sure...

....One thing I know, I realize that I am dreaming and have the ability to do ANYTHING LOL so can control my dreams using this awareness in the dream! although sometimes I have woken up terrified because I was unable to cause myself to become invisible in the dream in my bid to escape whatever it was that was after me or such LOL
