why is faith a virtue?
I am taking the definition of faith as this:

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

Why is this a good thing? it would seem to me to be a promotion of schizophrenia, rather than a philosophy to base a religion on.

Besides, any god who requires faith is a god that doesnt understand the nature of the world, and how to actually go about demonstrating the existence of things.

Also, Abraham didnt have to have faith, as god supposedly interacted directly with him. Neither did Noah, or any of the people following Moses, as god interacted with them on a nearly daily basis, providing mana from heaven for their nourishment and by being a guide in the form of a pillar of fire. These guys get direct evidence, yet we have to settle for stories multiple-times removed from their supposed sources?

Shows that even if real (very doubtful)... god has proven to actually be a very confused, bipolar, unstable and secular entity..that does not really love and accept all of his/hers/it creation..in fact it seems like it prefers to connects only with very few ...not that the deluded followers will ever accept this truth and the reality they see every day with their own eyes, LOL.

Not that it matters ...as all organisms energies and matter throughout the universe are equally bipolar and unstable

Oh, and the people following moses, even after having all that supposed direct evidence, STILL rejected god in favor of idol worship.

To them, a golden calf was more worthy of worship.

Where was his mighty wrath there? Where was the smiting?

it also shows a real lack of critical inquiry when it comes to the subject matter of the bible. And it comes from people who usually require evidence for almost everything else in their life. They look to see the side effects on medicine, they research the safety precautions with their children's toys and such, why would they not apply the same caution to what, by their admission, is the most important subject that can be considered?

It doesnt make sense to me.
