Insane loud noise like explosions coming from the sky in Florida!

It's in the Tampa Bay area, in Pinellas county on the West side of the Bay. I check the high school too. It's not the marching band. It sounds like constant thunder, or cannon fire in the distance. slightly muffled, but impossible to ignore, even indoors.

A large fireworks show about an hour ago NWFL.

It's done. It lasted a good 15 minutes. Constant rumbling. I really have no equipment to record it with, unfortunately. people were coming out and doing alot of head scratching on my street. It was surreal.

This is nowhere near NWFL. We are in West Central Florida, about halfway up the peninsula. NWFL is hundreds of miles away.

Are you with say, 10 miles (maybe 20) of a gunnery range? Artillery & tank fire noise carries for looong way, especially on a still night.

No. The closest would be Avon Park Bombing range, in Cental Florida. At least 150 miles away. MacDill AFB, Centcom for the MiddleEast is on Tampa Bay. But this is totally out of the ordinary.

There is not a cloud in the Sky. Nothing on radar. And you are hearing the same thing 85 miles away... Are we venting atmosphere? It sounds like it is coming from a super high altitude.

Just checked outside, we are all quiet here on the space coast.

i heard it to about an hour ago, i have my windows open
i heard the band playing... and i heard really loud explosion
my husband came up he heard it to, about 3 minutes later heard another big explosion.... really strange i dont know what it was

I still hear it...10:16pm...The only thing i see in the sky is stars!!! yet the sound is coming from the sky it seems like to me...
