The point that you are missing, or trying to obfuscate, is that people aren't getting up going to work and getting a paycheck. They are getting up, and digging in garbage cans to feed their family because they have been out of work for a few months, or a year or longer. This is all thanks to big banks and republican deregulation. Deregulation that happened because republicans put the interest of their contributors before the interests of their constituents. You hear about the tea party. They aren't too happy with the people they got elected. What have they done but attempt to shut down the government, convince people that Social security isn't funded and will be for quite some time. They would rather lie to the people, tell them social security is running up the deficit than tell them the truth. All because their big bank contributors are pissed because seniors have a way of saving their money outside of the wall street investment scheme.
