False-flag? A pretext for Turkey to launch operations into Syria?

Pilgrims returning from hajj attacked by men in Syrian army uniforms, wounding two and raising tensions with Turkey.

A bus carrying Turkish pilgrims came under fire in neighbouring Syria as they were travelling back from the hajj, leaving two injured and prompting harsh words from Turkey's prime minister.

Turkish NTV news channel reported on Monday that a bus driver and pilgrim were wounded in the attack at a checkpoint just across the Syrian border. The bus was part of a three-bus convoy returning from Saudi Arabia.

A video posted online showed the apparent aftermath of the attack, including several shattered windows and one person being carried on a stretcher by ambulance staff.

My guess would be a false flag. How hard would it be to get a couple Syrian military uniforms and fake an attack near the border?

Of course the USA needs Turkish airspace so why not stir the pot a little.

Surmeli said the bus was carrying 25 butchers back to Turkey from Saudi Arabia following the Muslim festival of Eid Al-Adha, or the feast of sacrifice.

“We had stopped at a checkpoint,” Surmeli told The Associated Press by telephone. “Syrian soldiers emerged from behind sandbags and cursed (Turkish Prime Minister) Recep Tayyip Erdogan when we told them we were Turks. Then they suddenly opened fire at the bus.”

The prime minister is just a puppet. He helped put in the new Turkish central bank.... [link to blogs.wsj.com] Turkey Prices Leap; Raising Questions On Central Bank’s Policy

The USA needs the support of Turkey it is that simple. This gives them an excuse. Can you really see actual military troops just randomly opening fire on one of thousands of buses from Turkey? It is a false flag.

According religiosity polls 97.8% of the population is Muslim.Thousands and thousands of buses travel through Syria every year on the way to Mecca, and there was never one incident until now.Convenient to say the least.

MOSCOW - Russia accused Western nations of undermining the chances for a peaceful resolution in Syria on Monday, saying the West was urging President Bashar Assad's opponents not to seek compromise with the government.

Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov's remarks were the latest sign of support for Assad from Russia, which joined China last month in vetoing a Western-drafted UN Security Council resolution condemning his government's eight-month crackdown on protests.

Turkish bus attacked in Syria; Russia accuses West of provocation as pressure mounts.

Meanwhile, Foreign Secretary William Hague said on Monday the international community would do as much as it could to turn up the pressure on Syria after President Bashar al-Assad said he would not bow to pressure to crack down on protesters.

“We will increase the pressure on the Assad regime. I discussed this with the Secretary of the Arab League yesterday and I believe they will wish to do so at their further meeting tomorrow,” he told BBC Radio in an interview.

“The behavior of that regime is appalling and unacceptable and of course we will do what we can to support democracy in Syria in the future.”

Russia, meanwhile, accused the West of provocative behavior in the Syrian crisis, saying Western countries were telling the opposition to forget dialogue with President Assad.

Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said the West's behavior in this respect was “similar to a political provocation at an international level,” the RIA Novosti and Interfax news agencies reported.

He complained that while the Arab League had called for a halt to violence in Syria, Western capitals had been telling the opposition to refrain from dialogue with Assad.

Erdogan to Assad: Tanks will not keep you in power forever

Turkish PM warns Syrian president that violent crackdown against dissent will not sustain his rule; criticizes autocratic leader for opening the way for "outside interference."

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday warned Syrian President Bashar Assad that he could "remain in power with tanks and cannons only up to a certain point," AFP reported.

Speaking in Istanbul following reports that two Turkish citizens were wounded when gunmen opened fire on a convoy of Turkish buses carrying pilgrims in northern Syria, Erdogan warned Abbas, "The day will come when you'll also leave."

This is a setup.
Syrian soldiers know they could get into trouble doing this, so it is probably something that has been done by the armed resistance.
They will have their old Syrian army uniforms if they were deserters, and would have dressed up in those clothes to emulate the real Syrian army.
Emulate falsely.

Ba'ath party from Iraq mostly relocated to Syria.

After US withdrawal, expect them to go back to Baghdad. It'll be civil war for sure.
