Why is my sat nav saying I've done a max speed of 420 mph?
I know for a fact the fastest I have done with my sat nav in the car is 102mph, and the last time I checked my info page, which was a few months back, it said 102 mph.

It was like that for years, because I did that speed back in 2005 I think it was.

why the hell would my sat nav have registered a speed of 420 mph?

Did the earth move a bit, and that's what the machine picked up?

By the way, there is absolutely NO WAY i could falsify that. I can only use the machine in my car, as it is ONLY powered through my car's electrical supply. So for instance it couldn't have happened on an airplane. I never take my sat nav abroad, and anyway, i'd have no means to power it up on an airplane.

has anyone else in the UK, or anywhere for that matter got a sat nav that records things like max speed, total mileage etc, like my VERY old Garmin does?

any chance you can take a look, to see if something similar was recorded by your machine?

Mine says 135mph, but the bike work gave me was a slow old dog, so im not surprised.

nah, nobody would actually think that, would they? lol

if there's a max speed set on newer ones, and you KNOW there is no way you can have hit that max, and it's reading that max, post it here.

If someone else posts that they are seeing the same shit, i'll take a pic of mine and upload it, pointless if it's only me though. probably just a glitch in the machine.

You were at location B

After the satellites "recalculated" your real location, you "moved" from A to B at 420 mph.

That, or your unit is a stonr.

i've seen it doing that, loads of times, prior to this speed being recorded. this is the first time i've noticed such a high speed recorded though.

it's a really reliable unit tbh, so i don't know. maybe it's just a glitch. if no-one else who checks notices anything, i'll forget about it.
