Atheists in the Military Are Demanding Their Own Chaplains

Leave it to you to go COMPLETELY OFF TOPIC. Despite the fact that most soldiers may not participate in an established religion, most consider themselves Christians, that is why they have the crucifixes on their graves.

Nevertheless the irreligious wanting 'chaplains' are fucking retarded.

Completely off topic? Pfft. I can pull up TONS of articles/threads on here where folks claim that the US military is made up of Christian soldiers who are nothing but murderers.

Just because someone believes something does NOT make it a religion. Many people believe dogs are a hell of a lot more spiritual than christians. Are you going to claim they're a religion also? Atheists don't worship anyone, they don't have a book they follow, no holy days, no songs they sing to an idol. Atheists don't even have FAITH.

I actually read the article (unusual for GLP I know).

It's not atheists per se, it's Humanists.

The Humanists are an organized faction a 'non-theist' religion basically (sounds like an oxymoron, but it isn't), so I guess they have a case.

Anyway yeah, nice propaganda piece TX but I suspect the vast majority of non-denominational atheists (wtf did I just say that?) couldn't really give two shits about getting a chaplain.

To really understand this report, you need to do some research on the Humanist movement.

The Humanist society even has tax-free status, it is recognised as a religion by the federal government btw.

So again, this isn't atheists demanding a chaplain, it's Humanists and while Humanism is non-theistic, it IS a religion imo.

So they should be entitled to a chaplain, I mean the US military gives even muslims their own chaplains right?

They probably want something like a mental coach or motivational speaker.

It would probably go a little something like this:

Chaplain: Go out there son, kill as many non-Christians as you can and a place in heaven will be reserved for you.

Motivational speaker: I know it sucks to be here. Focus on the the positive. Once we finish this task we get to go home to our wives, children, family, friends, and country. You will be called a veteran and people will respect and adore you for no good reason.

They want a Humanist chaplain and they are perfectly entitled to one if you look at the facts surrounding this report.
