Why didn't the Americans use the A bomb to force the Russians to surrender in 1945 ?

They were the only nation that had the A bomb at that time and they could have conquered Russia without firing a single bullet.

What they are targeting is the missile defense system. It is a system designed to take missles out of the air, not unlike anti aircraft artillery but specific to missiles, not manned aircraft. To the best of my knowledge, it is purely defensive.

Be all of that as it may, defensive or offensive, there is no mistaking that things are accelerating at a dizzing rate. Wars, rumours of wars, financial implosions, it all seems to point to an end game of some type.

Because the Russians & the US were fighting against a commom enemy - Hitler. The enemy of my enemy is my friend. Almost an entire generation of young Russian men were used as cannon fodder against Hitler. Another very brutal & bloody chapter for the Russian people.

Russia and America (both predominately white) should use the missile defense system against the brown people.

Of course we are not going to tell you anything at all you russian idiot, the muslims are targeting russia too, but you're too stupid to see it.

It's not purely defensive if it neutralizes Russia's nuclear deterrent, and changes the whole balance of power.
It could theoretically allow the US to launch a nuclear first strike without any fear of retaliation. Can you imagine the Russians deploying defensive missiles close to the American border? The US would be going crazy about it...

It is a tad more complicated than that.
Russia wants the NEW START Treaty to stick, along with the concession by the US to de-nuclearize the European continent of US weapons, as well as dropping the weapons defense, as well as making a formal agreement over cyber- sovereignty. The Russians have met the concessions agreed upon, now it is time for the US in their eyes.

Because the powers that be that owned BOTH sides didn't want that, they wanted a forced dichotomy to profit on.

The whole world has become just one big schoolyard spat -- and a damned deadly one at that. The amazing thing is that most people get along just fine, it is the sociopaths in our govts that cause all the problems.

Exactly what I have been saying for days. It takes out the second strike capability, that is what Russia is gunning against with regard to the Defense System.
It makes no sense to have a Non-Proliferation Treaty as well as Arms Reduction Treaties if the Russians capability of second strike is knocked out by a Air Defense System.
This is why the US needs to handle this better- it essentially makes the Non-Proliferation Treaty and Arms Reduction Treaties null and void. So, then proliferation can and will be started up again.

You don't 'aim' a DEFENSE system at a country. They only 'aim' at what's coming down from the sky.



Regardless, putting something like that on their border is antagonistic to say the least. Stupid thing to do IMHO.

Elections nearby. Putin&Medvedev very weak now, their plutocracy for all people in the throat. he keep their teeth for governance. If this election win ruling party, in Russia will be great excitement. And furthermore, if the presidential elections in march 2012 will come to power again Putin - will be a lot of blood. So now everyone needs a common enemy - and Russia and U.S. Martial law will solve NWO problems. But apparently, the war did not really begin until the spring.
