For what it's worth...

If you're wandering about or thinking linearly, then the speed of travel is inherently linked with the abstractions that we've developed through life in the unfolded world (sans deja vu). Bad enough to study a 2-D map to travel on a 3-D surface with distorted view of distances in longitude.

If, in prescience, you know where your destination is; if you can picture it or know instinctively where it is, then going from physical point A to B is made more efficient due to the knowledge at hand. In your mind you're already there. Or lost in thought you warp through your path.

From a structure/function perspective:

The notion is to collapse the harmonics that sustain the structure that is your body.
Your structure remaining in stasis, a function is derived which represents "your" harmonics.
The carrier frequency underlies everything and provides the base on which to "reconstruct."
The information related to your function is compressed into a pulse (soliton).
That soliton would then be "relocated" via translation or via connectivity (e.g., entanglement, waveguide, beam) to a different location.
At the new location, with the carrier frequency as a basis, the function is decompressed.
Just like creating a continuous or discontinuous magnetic wormhole. The discontinuous version is like a lotus flowering (or waning) on one side of the pond vs. one flowering on the other side of the pond. The pond represents an "aether node" network at rest.

Your bilocated self would be a pure hologram, but with the ability to support an anatomy. The original matter (body) stays behind, unless the next step is achieved: tunneling... or resonant energy transfer or evanescent wave coupling. That's the tricky part.

From a "Dune" or topological perspective:

To think of traveling within innerspace would require that space to be unfolded, refolded with new content and then unfolded in a different place. Innerspace here would be sub-Planck space, in frequencies that are unadulterated and spatially all encompassing.

Entering sub-space would require bending local space inward with a vortical inversion of the magnetic field. The reduced field would then oscillate and be free to "displace" in the sub-space, in the now.

These techniques seem so "forceful".

From an esoteric perspective:

I take issue with the complexity of transformation and collapsing the self, as differentiated from the Self. Maybe FTL travel is a moot point when the mind can couple with the greater Mind. Our presence here is our bondage. Our prescience is our way out. There are simpler ways.

To "soften" a local section of the matrix requires energetic unwinding with positive intent.

There are already many geographic areas that are magnetically coupled with other ones, there is premeditated structure in the energetic pathways. Why not use what mother Nature has gifted us with, namely the gateways that are already out there?

The earth's surface is also a mirror of the universe around us. Travel the Earth to travel the Universe.

Think fractal in Scale. Then act homeopathically.
