Yeah. Me too. I've got a dog though. People with families to share with sometimes don't realize how lonely it can make some of us feel when it's shoved in our faces by TV and the media. Not all, but I'd say most.

I'm home alone today but it's be choice. Just not into it this year. 2 hour drive to eat dinner, with casual and meaningless conversation, doesn't make much sense anymore.

Sorry. Wrong. But I like your attitude.

My first year divorced and family lives across the country...so yep, this is my first. Embrace the loneliness, but don't let your mind torment you.

I'm "alone" in that the rest of my family went to dinner. I'm sick and in bed, so I'm thankful for GLP.

Seriously, I've been thinking today about how much internet connectivity adds to my life. It gets a lot of flack, but if you don't use the internet INSTEAD of relationships, it is a good supplement.

I am thankful for all of you.

I typically celebrate it alone however I am going to my sisters later today and grab a bite to eat. Feels a little weird actually knowing I have somewhere to go for once. Gobble til you wobble.

I am. But, in a higher sense, we are never really alone. *smile*

Alone and happy as a clam.

I love being by myself......we, me, myself and I, never argue and we laugh at the same things. We like the same food, and we're on the same schedule.

Holidays are great, but the 'family' part is way overblown.
This day and age families hardly even know one another, and the time spent together can get real awkward.

Celebrate yourself......'cause you're special indeed.

Expect the unexpected.

The flip side to that coin is: you can always sit around and wonder why you ever got married.

Don't get swallowed by the past and be thankful for the time you got to spend with her when you were married.

And be thankful for today - each new day brings with it a chance to meet someone new.

That's true, I have a lot of family that I can't relate to. They technically "exist" to spend time with but there's not a lot of feeling. Been very lonely the past 3-4 years feeling like an outsider. I hope you do have a few people that make you feel loved to lean on. I just try to enjoy the holidays even though the people I do have to see I'm not close to. Days out, food, shopping, husband, mom, little one & pets and trying not to take anything for granted.

Alone here because my family don't understand me and I really don't feel like hanging out with a bunch of sheeple. Just gives me a massive headache to be around them. I don't even speak their language anymore if you know what I mean.

I am. Went to the store and got 2 bottles of wine .... he he .... Making homemade veal parmesan and I'm going to cook up a storm. Here in Seattle we actually have gale warnings all today and into the night ...... hope my power stays on.

Doing a Regios pizza I got on sale yesterday from Krogers. 3.99 plus tax.

I'm looking forward to that pizza. Then back here to work for another 8 hour shift.

I hope you enjoy your pizza. I swear, store pizzas are better these days. I almost like Kroger store-brand better than Pizza Hut now.

I can't eat more than a small plate of food at once and find get together with relatives somewhat boring. I find the idea of gluttony as a way to give thanks to God a bit hypocritical as well, and if i hear one more squabble between two greedy little brats who won't even eat it fighting over the last turkey leg, there just might be a spontaneous ass whipping in tier future.

I also find it pretentious to give thanks to God for allowing the white invaders to subjugate a great civilization, and basically that is what thanksgiving is.

I am celebrating with a bottle of turkey, wild turkey that is and please, don't bother to try to cheer me up unless you have something in mind I should really be thankful for.

Just breathing isn't enough any more, I'm tired of seeing evil prevail and everything good vilified and ground under the wheels of 'justice..

I am. But I have my 3 dogs and I'm not sad about it. Have outlived my husband and my siblings, all in all I've had lots of love and a mostly good life, so how can I be sad? I'm thankful for good memories.

Well I guess I will never meet anyone here on GLP if people keep thinking I'm a man!

Yea, Krogers store brand is not bad at all. Pretty darn good actually. I normally don't even buy name brand pizza cause I'm all poor and shit, but it was on sale.

I'd rather be getting my calories from Sam Adams, but ya know...all poor and shit and have to work.
