I hope you enjoy your pizza. I swear, store pizzas are better these days. I almost like Kroger store-brand better than Pizza Hut now.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 5959206

We love the Kroger pizza even more than the take out.The rising crust type is the one we like most.
I buy 6 when they have then on sale here 3 for $10.

Made a small plate with a piece of turkey and a potato and bread.Did it in the microwave. No family that gives a shit about each other so no one has a get together.Overall I would rather have the quiet time at home rather than all the drama of the past get togethers anyway.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone.Even with lots of stress we still have things to be thankful for.

And not a damn thing good on TV.

If I never live to see another Godfather and James Bond marathon again I will consider myself lucky.

My child never calls me. He was raised by his mother and from what he said once, all she did was talk shit about me.

Looks like it worked.

He could care less if he ever spoke to me again.

Wow ttown dont you have children. That alone is so much to be thankful for. Many times I have had almost nothing but I would manage to have something to put on the plates and me and the kids would enjoy our meal and say thanks for all the small things we could think of.Its what you make it.At least you have a place to live and power on.Many many many people dont this year.

I am all alone today, because my wife left me in July after 37yrs.
I do not feel sorry for myself at all, For it is, what it is.
This is just another day like any other, no celebrating anything.

Mr Shaft? My heart goes out to you.

My uncle and aunt, after 50 years had separated. He ran off with a Vegas show girl 1/3 his age! He died of an acute myocardial infarction 2 months later. My aunt died shortly there after (they say from a broken heart).

I know how you feel my brother!

peace and love to you!

Noticed a lot of divorcees around. Just a little heads up.

Read an article about how many men now a days let their wives break them down and be completely controlled. A lot of women (I'm one myself) have those controlling tendencies. Couple of years down the line, wife doesn't want to share a bed with a puppy anymore and goes out looking for a real man.

Morale- Feminism and equality are great things, but a man needs to be a man to be attractive. So don't back down- be the man of your house, it'll benefit both you and your family in the long run.

It just didn't work out. It's very hard for me to continue. Every day is a chore and I look forward to the end, as bad as that sounds. She is engaged to a guy now that could pass as my brother, we look a lot alike. I'm just glad that she is happy and really hope the best for her.

Holy SHIT! THAT sounds like an exact story of what happened to me a few years back (without the brother part...It was her boss).

I KNOW this IS hard! I KNOW the seconds tick like HOURS. I KNOW every waking moment you feel her in your soul. TRUST ME. I KNOW this. I went through the EXACT same thing.

You GOTTA hang in there! Have to keep the faith! I know its tough fella, but you have to be strong! Make it through this test, and you move on to the next level unscathed! Man if there was something magical I could give or say to you I would... But you have to keep moving forward my brother!

Life is YOURS to live! the ONLY thing that matters is this moment! Don't look too far forward, NEVER look back. Keep the good memories of you and her in your heart as the best times of your life and be thankful for them, but move on... If it truly was meant to be it will come again, but you HAVE a life to live and I wish you Godspeed on your journey! I'll pray for you brother!

Hang in there, "time heals ALL wounds" and "This too shall pass"

Keep the faith!

Are there any community soup kitchen's or something like that where some of you are? Going to those on Thanksgiving and volunteering can definitely cure that loneliness you feel. Just walk in and ask if they need some help. An idea. hf

Re: How many of you are celebrating Thanksgiving alone?
I'm alone today and will be dining alone. If I had a car I know I would have had more invitations, but I'm okay with it. I'll have a nice dinner with "all the trimmings" later on. I'm all for the holiday if families want to get together (as long as there's no fighting). Otherwise, it is yet another commercially driven holiday.
When A. Lincoln declared it a holiday in the dark days of November 1863 (after the horrors of Gettesburg), he imagined a day not particularly filled with tons of food and gluttony, but of a genuine day of thanksgiving filled with prayer to our Creator as well.
I wonder how many Americans go to church on Thanksgiving??? Or if there are even any services to go to???

My son who is in his mid thirties has a wife who controls his every move!
She controls every thing literally!!!, She is also his mother in a sad way.
I have accused him of not wearing the pants in the house, and I wouldn't be surprised if she makes him wear a dress when he is home.
It is a sorry situation for sure.

I'm eating pot roast and watching the Twilight Zone marathon, not bad. May even shampoo the carpets, laundry, dishes. My teen sons don't want to hang out with their old mom, haha. I made a turkey and ham 2 weeks ago, couldn't wait. I don't mind, really. Our family had a party last month for all the fall birthdays, 27 people, so we had turkey dinner then, too. I wouldn't mind at all having a significant other to cuddle with and watch a DVD or something. Maybe some day.

I am a woman. Now you guys stick to your guns!!!! Don't let no woman run over you. Each person in a relationship should be strong. Two people together should work as a team. Of course every person has some weakness. We should help each other. If you see a weak spot in your partner don't try to use it and abuse it. It's very important to set goals in your relationship. Once you've set your goals the team work just happens. It's hard work to constantly be in tune with each other but it works ..... Today I give thanks that I have a roof over my head and I can cook a meal ....... Also I thank everyone for their post today as it is helping me to get through this wonderful day ......
