As for the OP, I am in the uk, where abouts are you from? Which county. As I was driving to work today 3:45pm the sun was behind the clouds and was giving off rays like I had never ever seen before. It looked amazing.

the video shows how a sun or cloud formation can be created using editing software.. which is completely unrelated to my post as the pic came straight from my samsung galaxy s2 8mb camera to my pc to this site.

I live near birmingham. However I spotted this on the way back from a a few days away in weston super mare with my girlfriend so I snapped it.

And I agree with you about the sun. early in the mornings around 10am the sun is White hot if you take a picture of it the rays span out amazingly.

I also took a few pics of the sun today and the sunset was like a furnace!

Ive got pictures on my phone of lens flare. I know what lens flare looks like on my camera and that aint it. I get lense flare as a red circle with a much smaller orange circle in the middle of it.

did it not hurt your eyes to look at the sun?

To see this 'object' you would have to have been looking at the sun. I, personally, am not able to look directly at the sun as it hurts my eyes

It did make my eyes water and i saw it in the car wing mirror, as the sun was setting at the time it wasnt so bad but still made an impression!

Agreed! at dusk you can take a quick swing by of the sun.. At that time as you say in the right conditions it doesnt have that imediate Blazing look away effect.

if it was real, millions of people would have already captured it on video and pics.
