It's always a pleasure to catch a glimpse of wildlife, isn't it. A few years ago I was privileged to see a hawk eating lunch atop a 6' fence post I was going to put a bird feeder on. It's only about 12' from my back door. I went out later and found its leftovers....a rat tail. |

There was a loaded 12 gauge in the truck but nobody thought to grab it, it would have been too unfair/easy, I'd guess one shot would have dropped at least 5 of them. |

I had no 'commercially raised' factory turkey this year, and instead, was treated to the real thing. Hawks are incredible to watch. Excellent hunters. |

Quoting: oldenough BUT !!! I went for a drive up in the foothills after eating some meatloaf for lunch. I live 15 minutes from millions of acres of mountains, all forested. I pull over and park near the tree line. Everything is dead quiet. After about 30 minutes of enjoying the quiet solitude of nature, I hear a rustling in the brush. I look to my left and what do I see? A wild Tom Turkey and his hen coming down to the meadow to eat. Beautiful birds. Looks like I got my turkey after all............... There's the difference between you and me. I would have shot them and then field dressed them, brought them home and threw them at me ole lady and told her to make me some turkey sammiches! |

Don't you love it when something happens you know was meant just for you? Call it what you will. If it be asked, What is the most sacred duty and the greatest source of our security in a Republic? The answer would be, An inviolable respect for the Constitution and Laws. Alexander Hamilton |
