I have to admit I have never even heard of that dish! I am all about the sour cream and chives.. but fermented herring?? Is it strong tasting?

Hachiya persimmons (the kind that comes to a point on the top). But since they are available only from Thanksgiving to Christmas, I guess it would have to be avocados.

Then would come shrimp. My dream meal would consist of deep-fried shrimp, side order of sliced avocados, followed by a dessert of sweet, silky persimmons.

CHEESE. I know it's terrible for you, but it's just so so freakin good! I had to give up cheese for over a year when I was nursing my son, as he was allergic to dairy, and let me tell ya, I was a lunatic for the first several months. Giving up cheese was harder than quitting smoking for me! I kinda wish I'd stayed away from it, but alas, I'm back on the cheese lol
