Penn has some great breweries but still not like CO or CA. Remember I am also from the east coast and live in the same city as Flying Dog is brewed. I love the East Coast but Cali and CO produce better brews. Dogfish is top dog on the east coast IMO. |

Turbo Dog runs a close second. Abita? Really? Sam Adams is good but PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR and at least try ANYTHING by STONE Breweries or Southern Tier. Actually, Purple Haze I feel is.the best Abita beer. Also I will not argue that Sam Adams is one of the best Lagers HOWEVER, if one of these west coast breweries put out an imperial lager, it would blow SA out of the water. Hell, the latest batch of Breckenridge Imperial Pils could be one of the best in the world. |

NY has Southern Tier. Georgia actually has 2 decent breweries, terrapin and sweetwater. I think you would have to actually travel to see where the best beers are produced. Sam Adams sells a couple beers you can only get in Boston and they are excellent. Don't forget PA with Yuengling & Victory. But yea, who am I kidding- Stone is fucking great, North Coast. Oh, and the only style that originated in the US was in California- Steam beer. poyl |

I love Custom Brewcrafters in Honeoye Falls and Rohrbach's in Rochester, NY. Sam Adams is always good except that minty springtime beer they have. They are popping up everywhere so good times are here for beer. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 43934290 United States 08/27/2013 03:21 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This is pertaining more to the USA I guess as I also love some Belgium beers; Chimay, Trappist, ETC... Quoting: MARsSPEED 1492929 But let me tell, especially to my friends across the big ponds. I live in Maryland but nothing compares to these Colorado and California Breweries. Tonight I had a four pack of some Ten Fidy Oskar Blues Imperial Stout(Colorado) and its one of the best stouts I have ever had. Worth the money! Between Oskar Blues(Colorado), Breckenridge(Colorado), Greenside(Cali), Bear Republic(Cali), and of course Stone (Cali), Americans have truly learned the craft of brewing. I am not sure if Southern Tier is also Colorado but if it is, Colorado has the best breweries in the world. No kidding! Again, to my friends accross both ponds, who truly love beer, please try to find some of these craft brews from our homeland no matter what your opinion of our USA is! Thanks and Cheers! I don't like alcohol, but yes, that mass produced stuff is poison. Small breweries have learned to capture the taste and balance of true, old style brewing. |

The mass produced stuff is like McDonalds only worse. It's probably cheaper to produce than plastic mcnuggets. |
