ooooh--- me first.

Ok, So I am talking to this guy for like 4 months or so and he seems nice and cool and everything. He is an attorney, sends me pics from the website, etc. Fine.

So, I agree to meet him in a public place. When I walk in, this guy is about 20-25 years older than he was in his picture. Seriously. He was in his 70s. But, to be nice, I sit down to have dinner with him and talk to him, and HHOPE he was there for his son??

About 15 minutes into the conversation, the man hands me a tiny vibrator and asks me to go to the bathroom and insert it so that it could be 'on' as we ate dinner. I freaked out- took off to the bathroom to call my friend to get me out of this (still can't be rude).

When I was in the bathroom, the waitress came in and asked me about 'the date from hell'. She told me he was rude to the waitresses and had told one of them before I got there that if I didn't show up he would 'buy one of them for the night'.

I took off- with him following me and loudly- saying, "You need to decide what you want out of life... If I am your lover you can have everything." It was the creepiest moment.

There were 2 business guys about my age (early 30s) and I joined them and asked them to watch me to my car because of this guy.

It was so creepy, and now my friends all make fun of me because I couldn't be rude to this guy no matter what....

I'm only doing this because I get to remain anonymous, but I was having online conversations that got quite deep over a long period of time with a person I thought was a guy, only to find out it was a girl. I kid you not. I threw up for a while, lol.

well, i'm ashamed, just a bit, but here goes nothing.

it all started one rainy night. the neighbors cat was in heat, and the other neighbors dog was fucking the tree in my front yard for the tenth time that evening, and that got me thinking: why am i, an ex-roadie for motorhead and an award-winning motivational speaker specializing in how to make serious money from your sex addiction, alone on this cold and windy night? after checking the weather again, just to make sure that i probably shouldn't be out and about, i powered up my supercomputer and decided to find a soulmate. i signed up for about 30 different dating sites, even posted in their forums, just to seem sensitive and real, and then waited to see who would want me. i didn't have to wait long...

Re: Tell your online dating horror stories or love stories here!
I was very selective when I began online dating. Is consider myself a fairly good looking young(30) man. I was recieved very well when I posted my profile. Within the first 2 weeks I had about 15 date offers from women of various ages, sizes, and ethnicities. I remained quite picky and only agreed to one date.

Long story short, its now close to 2 years later and I'm still with the woman I chose to date. She is a wonderful person and its by far the best relationship I've ever been in.

After doing it I don't understand why more people don't do it. You literally take a survey composing what is your perfect mate and can pick and choose between the matches.

By the way. My girlfriend and I were a 100% match and I would have to agree.

Hmm... I'll try and condense my experience.. For anonymity I'll leave some of the details out.

Ok, so last year I started talking to a guy online from Europe. Everything seemed great, we talked online and on the phone quite a bit, nearly every day, he came to visit me for a week or so and everything still seemed alright...

I moved over there a little more than a year after we started talking. I gave up everything (car, job, belongings I didn't absolutely need), shipping over the things that mattered most, and...

When I got there, he was a TOTALLY different person. He lied about so many things about himself, clearly not to scare me off. I won't go into detail, but it's a real mindfuck to get to know someone for a year and find out that they are not at all that person.

He was a total psychopath in the truest sense of the word, essentially kept me as a prisoner, held knives to my neck, choked me, beat me up, methodically kept me awake at night so I couldn't get rest, etc. etc. etc.. This is someone well-respected in his community..

I'm sure there MUST have been flags that I missed, but I really had no indication of any of this (that I could tell, or anyone I know could tell) beforehand... I escaped as soon as I was able to, thank GOODNESS.... Without a car, without a job, having to leave most of the belongings I had shipped (the ones I cared most about), and fortunately, with a mother who cared enough to let me stay with her while I picked my life up again from pretty much nothing.

I'm making progress about 6 months later, as far as car, work, etc. goes. I miss my books though :/

Anyway... I'm sure this is a very rare thing... But people can portray themselves totally different online, on the phone, and in short amounts of time in person. So use basic caution, obviously (I'm sure you don't need me to tell you that OP, but it's worth saying!). I thought I did, but moving across the world was not my best move. Just glad I came out of it alive, and not too terribly damaged from the barrage of "life lessons" well-learned.

Re: Tell your online dating horror stories or love stories here!
i'm back.

so where was i? oh yeah...

so there i was sitting in my underwear, browsing online dating profiles on a few different sites, when my phone rang. i almost gagged on my hot chocolate. no one has this number, i thought to myself. the caller id was reading 'blocked'; i inhaled deeply to calm myself and answered.

'jimmys bail bonds.'

a sultry female voice whispered in my ear, 'hello, jimmy. did you miss me?'

'you bet. but just barely. i could have killed you.'

'jimmy, you know that's not how it happened.'

'you're right, sativa, so what do you want me to do about it?'

'sativa? who's this sativa?'

oops.

'who is this?'

'baby, it's thunderpussy1969, from angelbabysugardolls.com. you liked my profile. that's why i called.'

'i did? i didn't even look at any profiles. and i've never heard of that site either...'

'hmmm. interesting. i doubt that you're telling me the truth, jimmy. or should i say, mister_diggler_2011.'

'lady, you have the wrong man.'

'i seriously doubt that, big boy,' she purred to me like an oversexed raccoon.

...and before i had a chance to respond, there was a crash of thunder, lightning tore the sky as if god had unzipped his fly, and the phone went dead.

...

to be continued

Yeah, "sour" would probably be a good word for it, but it's still recent enough, so I'm hoping enough "me" time and introspection will get me past it. Logically I know that most guys are alright, and definitely not like that.

I am a sucker for a nice accent though, haha. Oh well :)

Normally the flags are that everything about the person you are talking to sound perfect. Look for an honest person willing to admit that something about them is not perfect. At least one thing because nothing and no one can be "perfect".

Its just too easy for a scumbag man to figure out what you want to hear and regurgitate it right back to you. Honest people will tell you the good and bad about them and thats the big problem when women want to only hear what their fantasy is...and thats all it is is a fantasy.

That's so true, very good advice! It's especially easy for someone to do that from a distance, through e-mails, over the phone, etc..

Personally I didn't realize this at the time (obviously), but I like to think that I learned a lot from it, and can turn it into something positive. Better than self-pity or regret.

That being said, I can't think of anyone I'd wish that sort of thing on, for any reason. Blech. If something seems too good to be true, it probably is!

Re: Tell your online dating horror stories or love stories here!
sorry. christ. once my private number got out, i get nothing but crank calls. and i can't change it because i, uh, need it. but that's another story.

right, then, onward & upward:

the phone went dead. the lights flickered. my supercomputer belched in pain until my 15mW backup generator kicked in. i got back to work.

first things first: just who the hell was thunderpussy1969?

as a bailbondsman and bounty hunter, i had ample resources to track down (& neutralize, if necessary) just about anyone in the world at nearly any time of the day or night. databases.satellites. drones. the neighborhood chattermouth. whatever it takes, that's my motto.

hmmm. interesting. two hours later, my luck had run out like a candle in the wind. there was no angelbabysugardolls.com. and thus, it stood to reason that there would be no thunderpussy either. i only had one other option. and this was a card that i really didn't want to play.

'mom?'

'jimmykins! you haven't called in days!'

'hours, mom, hours.'

'well, it certainly felt like forever. you treat me so poorly, james. we never play scrabble anymore.'

'how are they treating you over there, mom?'

'the same, james, the same.' she sighed.

'look, i'm sorry. it's not my fault.'

the silence was as heavy as a gilt mirror.

'okay, mom, look. i have a mission for you. another one. remember last time?'

'really?' she perked up. 'and what's in it for me this time?'

'more than a novelty t-shirt, i promise.'

she was all business now. 'tell me everything.'

and so i did...

ooooh--- me first.

It was so creepy, and now my friends all make fun of me because I couldn't be rude to this guy no matter what....

crazy!
Beyond one's own mind there is no dazzling light to come shining in from outside to wake one up. If one recognizes one's own intrinsic State as pure from the beginning and only temporarily obscured by impurities, and if one maintains the presence of this recognition without becoming distracted, then all the impurities dissolve. This is the essence of the Path-namkhai norbu.

Why is there a legend about the descent of Christ into hell? The Teacher addressed the lower strata of the astral world, saying: Why, by cherishing earthly thoughts, bind oneself eternally to Earth? And many revolted in spirit and rose higher.

I'm only doing this because I get to remain anonymous, but I was having online conversations that got quite deep over a long period of time with a person I thought was a guy, only to find out it was a girl. I kid you not. I threw up for a while, lol.

Re: Tell your online dating horror stories or love stories here!

Just glad I came out of it alive, and not too terribly damaged from the barrage of "life lessons" well-learned.

moving across the world is very risky indeed!

Re: Tell your online dating horror stories or love stories here!
lemmy is a mensch.

there was this one time, actually not that long ago, when he really helped me out, man. i can't tell the whole story here, but let's just say that when he found out that i had a baby boy and that i had no choice but to either take him on tour with us or quit, he encouraged me (practically forced me, really) to take him with us.

'jimmy', he said to me through the haze of a cigarette,' it's never too early to rock and roll.'

'too right, lemmy. too damn right.' i nodded sagely. 'i'm just not sure if it's a healthy environment for an infant, you know what i mean?'

'i do, son, i do. but if there's one thing i know, it's that you if you like to gamble, well, you win some you lose some it's all the same to me.' he took a huge swig from his bottle of whatever and puffed on his cigarette like some confused chimpanzee buddha. i loved him for it, and still do.

'fucking a right, lem. let's do this!'

so, anyway, that's (kinda) how my son got to tour with me with motorhead. i think i even have some pictures of lemmy trying to breastfeed him. he was almost successful, i might add. i'll post those sometime if i can find them.

Re: Tell your online dating horror stories or love stories here!
During my freshman year of college, I had been talking to a man I met online. He was probably in his mid 40s...I forgot. But anyways, when we finally agreed to meet in person, he drove about an hour to meet me at school. He got there in his old, beat up truck and I got in there with him to talk about what we wanted to do. I was so freaked out and just had a bad feeling about it. So I told him I needed to go back to my room and we could think for a while about what we wanted to do...while he stayed in a hotel. That was the last time I saw him. We talked on the phone afterwards a little. So mine isn't really a horror story per se, but if you meet someone in person and your gut feeling is telling you something isn't right, it probably isn't. I didn't tell anyone where I was going when I met him, so I could have been slaughtered and no one would have known what was going on.

Now on the other hand, I've had a very successfully meeting with someone I met online. He's an amazing person and I'm glad I met him. I was also quite nervous upon our meeting, but I never had any of the bad feelings I did with that other man.

This was back before the Internet (i.e. early 1990's).

I met this chick from the newspapers personals. She said over the phone she was attractive.

Her and one of her friends walked in the door to my office. And I mean she was FAT!

I swear she was so fat had the building not been well built the whole room would have tilted up on its edge.

Re: Tell your online dating horror stories or love stories here!
I feel dumb, but could someone explain this?

well, i'm ashamed, just a bit, but here goes nothing.

it all started one rainy night. the neighbors cat was in heat, and the other neighbors dog was fucking the tree in my front yard for the tenth time that evening, and that got me thinking: why am i, an ex-roadie for motorhead and an award-winning motivational speaker specializing in how to make serious money from your sex addiction, alone on this cold and windy night? after checking the weather again, just to make sure that i probably shouldn't be out and about, i powered up my supercomputer and decided to find a soulmate. i signed up for about 30 different dating sites, even posted in their forums, just to seem sensitive and real, and then waited to see who would want me. i didn't have to wait long...

oh.

brb.

phone.

Re: Tell your online dating horror stories or love stories here!
If you date on-line ... keep it local. Anyone who goes for a long distance relationship with someone they have met on-line is just asking for problems since there is NO WAY you can get the informal feedback that one can obtain if someone is local.

With that said I know several successful marriages where the people met on-line ... and more and more people who have been dating for an extended periof of time someone they met on-line.

Of course there are going to be horror stories ... shoot there are horror stories of people who met in church, or at a bar, or in a class at school.

Best of luck to all.
