So I'm thinking about joining the Canadian Army...

Seriously. I'm 32, and still cant decide what the hell I wanna do in life. I've worked construction, have my 2nd year Electrical, been a certified addiction counselor for 5 years, went back to school and have 2.5 years of a double major degree in political science and philosophy, with a possible minor in psychology but I hate it.

It would be an adventure, and if I can't decide what to do with myself, why not turn it over and let someone else ...

what corps?

- infantry?

- combat engineers?

- armoured?

- RCEME?

Infantry if its open. In Jan. I'm going to work construction and only take a couple night classes to keep my brain busy and concentrate on getting in shape. I haven't submitted my application but I've began filling out forms. Don't think I want to go for 9 years as an officer, but I would like to go full time (ie no reserves). The benefits are great and it would be something different.

Im sure the situation is different in each country, but if after your 3 year commitment you decide to not make a career out of it, is it helpful in finding a civilian job?

not really, not many civilian infantry jobs. maybe if you got trained as a mechanic, electrician, or something like that.

Ummm... if you want to join an army or military, you will have to join one in your own country. I don't know if bulgaria even has a military.

You need to be living in canada, and you need to be a canadian citizen to be able to join canadas military.
