A recent increase in the abundance of particles high in the atmosphere has offset about a third of the current climate warming influence of carbon dioxide (CO2) change during the past decade, according to a new study led by NOAA and published today in the online edition of Science. 

In the stratosphere, miles above Earth’s surface, small, airborne particles reflect sunlight back into space, which leads to a cooling influence at the ground. These particles are also called “aerosols," and the new paper explores their recent climate effects -- the reasons behind their increase remain the subject of ongoing research.

“Since the year 2000, stratospheric aerosols have caused a slower rate of climate warming than we would have seen without them,” says John Daniel, a physicist at the NOAA Earth System Research Laboratory (ESRL) in Boulder, Colo. and an author of the new study.

How can climate scientists spend so much money?

US Federal government spending on climate change research in 2011
Until a few days ago I knew that the US government spent an excessive amount of taxpayer money on climate change research. It was just a general notion; I had read occasional articles showing the funding of certain agencies like NASA but I didn't know many specifics. Then on New Years Day, I wrote a very quick article where I randomly picked a document from a Google search showing funding for climate change. The numbers astonished me. I decided to take a closer look.

Alister Doyle in Reuters: Aircraft condensation trails criss-crossing the sky may be warming the planet on a normal day more than the carbon dioxide emitted by all planes since the Wright Brothers' first flight in 1903, a study said on Tuesday. It indicated that contrails -- white lines of Vapor left by jet engines -- also have big knock-on effects by adding to the formation of high-altitude, heat-trapping cirrus clouds as the lines break up.

By increasing the cloud coverage, contrail cirrus clouds exert a radiative forcing of 38 mW/m2 in the year 2002. The response of natural cloudiness introduces an offset (with a much larger degree of inherent model uncertainty) of about 20%. The study shows that CIC is the largest component (~31 mW/m2) of aviation-induced radiative forcing. Therefore, the current climate is more strongly warmed by CIC than by all the carbon dioxide emitted by aircraft that accumulated in the atmosphere since the beginning of aviation up to the year 2005 (28 mW/m2).

FedEx Aircraft on dangerous collision heading with what appears to be two (2) tankers. Vertical separation under 2,000 feet.

Second tanker on collision heading...
FedEx 5034 descends to 34,000 feet only to discover a third tanker at that altitude.
Conclusion: tankers were operating at civilian altitude with transponder off.

Today's meeting will examine a tragic chapter from the cold war 
era — the many cases, where our government sponsored secret ex- 
periments on Americans in the name of national security. 

Last year, Secretary of Energy O'Leary revealed that during the 
cold war the government conducted widespread radiation experi- 
ments upon soldiers, school children, hospital patients, and other 
private citizens, many of whom had not volunteered to be experi- 
mental subjects. 

The radiation experiments are only part of the story. We have 
learned that during the cold war the Department of Defense and 
other government agencies also conducted chemical and biological 
warfare experiments on Americans, as well as tests with various 
drugs and incapacitating agents. 

Because of security concerns, subjects of the cold war era tests 
were often not informed that they were participating in an experi- 
ment, and in other instances were not fully informed of potential 
health risks. 

Including the radiation experiments, we have learned that nearly 
a half million Americans were subjected to some cold war era tests. 

In addition to being secret, this national security research was 
often conducted on individuals who had little choice in the matter, 
including members of the military, prison inmates, hospital pa- 
tients, and institutionalized individuals. 

In one case, we have evidence that in the late 1950's the Army 
Chemical Corps conducted a biological warfare test from an aircraft 
flying over Detroit and dispersing particles of a cancer-causing 
compound. Although the Army assured us there was no likelihood 
of injury, I am deeply concerned about usin|^ our citizens as guinea 
pigs, no matter how safe the Army might thmk a test is. 

I'm beginning to think that chemtrails have something to do with weather manipulation and a few other reasons besides hiding planet Mr. X.

Thats alot of output there, but when are you going to post *evidence*. Some comment about a related experiment in 1950's or a patent for something related in the 1990's does not constitute proof that actual large scale chemical spraying is ongoing right. There's no chemical analysis of contrails, no testimony of ground crew, this would need to be such a massive widespread conspiracy it would be easy to obtain either.

As of September 2011, 191 states have signed and ratified the protocol.[4] The only remaining signatory not to have ratified the protocol is the United States. Other states yet to ratify Kyoto include Afghanistan, Andorra and South Sudan, after Somalia ratified the protocol on 26 July 2010."
