I'm with you on this one. I've said it before, we have a population of about 300 million people in this country. At election time, if it's the end of an 8-year term, we get to choose among 5 or 6 (per party, since most of us stick to one party). After the primary, we get to select from two.

The problem is, we have no say in who those initial candidates are. They just "throw their hat in the ring" and poof, we have candidates. They structure the elections so you have to be extremely wealthy to even consider running. People like George Soros put millions behind various candidate, the news media ignores or stonewalls any candidates who aren't "members of the club".

When you break the election process down to it's most basic elements, we have no choice. They decide who the final candidates will be and we choose from them. It's a finely crafted scheme that was designed that way from the beginning.
