Maybe if people were allowed to police themselves, the crime rate would really go down! Quoting: Anonymous Coward 6426892 Unless you live in the Tacoma area, you won't get the drift here. Tacoma was a huge area for drug and gang activity in the 80's and 90's and will head back in that direction if these cuts stick. While I agree that some people can take care of themselves, not everyone can. As soon as the gangs sink their hooks back into this area, it's gonna go right back down the toilet. Glad I don't live anywhere near there. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 6173260 United States 12/07/2011 01:43 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Here's a gnarly layoff which is planned to cripple both Police and Fire in 2 stages gutting almost 1/4 of their entire forces. 4 Fire stations will most likely be closed. Quoting: JesseDart [link to www.komonews.com] I hope people realize what they are asking for by looking to gut public safety. Those who can't protect themselves will become fodder for the dirtbags and the resurgence of the gangs that love to do business through the port will turn Tacoma back into the shithole it was back in the 80's and 90's. Coming soon to a city near you... just months after the po pos got poped too |

Man OP, when were you in Tacoma last? Gang activity is rampant. Call it like it is man. About a week ago. I don't have much reason to go there. What I do know is that Tacoma was and will once again become a major pipeline for drug and gang activity. You ain't seen nothin yet if you think it's bad now. I really hope I'm wrong but I know that if I was a bad guy, my mouth would be watering right now at the knocks of opportunity. |

JesseDart (OP) User ID: 1596989 United States 12/07/2011 03:19 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You are right in that sense, but you made it sound like there were no gangs at the moment. There are plenty of them around and I am sure it will only get worse. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 2750137 I didn't mean to make it sound like that, I know there are gangs there now. I'm just saying that they are going to gain a stronger foothold there now that the police force is being gutted. Things are going to get interesting there now between the gangs that were there before and now the influx of the new gangs will create a special place. Be safe over there. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 6668739 United States 12/07/2011 03:33 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | They must be getting desperate to get the people to revolt if they are starting to lay off police. I bet they are wondering just what it takes to get people off their fat asses and raise some hell so they can call in the U.N. troops to kill us. . |
