P-leeease let it be true! Hope we do an Iceland, write off all the debts, say adios europe, and start from scratch. Very resilient people the Irish, if anyone can do it they can.

This was from another thread shown at the bottom of the page:

"Buddy of mine knows some people that work for the minting office, and they have begun reprinting Irish pounds n the last week. A definitive sign that the Euro is on its last legs and that we are preparing to go back to the old Irish Punt - and we will certainly be pegged with Sterling - which will be a good thing.

Now its in the Irish Independent, Ireland's main daily:

"... Seven Investment Management analyst Justin Urquhart Stewart said talk of Ireland printing punts was coming from a number of sources, on RTE’s Morning Ireland.

Ireland could be better off and more cost effective outside the euro because our banking crisis has been managed, he said."
