Re: Iraq an economic Study
Under the original 13th amendment to the constitution, lawyers and judges cannot hold office. Do to the oath that they take when entering the bar. The 13th amendment that most think is in the constitution along with the other amendments that follow it have never been properly ratified. They are null and void.

Lincoln adjourned congress sin die at he beginning of the civil war and a proper congress has not been in session since. What we see today is a defacto version of congress.

You can find copies of the original 13th amendment on line. I have a certified copy from the Clerk of court records from the state of Colorado. The civil war was not about slavery as many belief but about states rights vs. federal intervention. Which lead to the southern states wanting to withdraw from the union. Which as sovereign states they should have been able to do. Are you a sovereign, try withdrawing from being a citizen of the United States Corporation. lol

In addition the new 13th amendment and subsequent amendments were never ratified by 2/3 of the states as required by the constitution. Only 5 states ratified the later amendments. Its in the congressional records. sk

You are not a party to the constitution. Show me your signature on it. Have you sworn an oath to uphold it. No only public officials have sworn oaths to uphold the constitution. A breach of that oath is treason, and most are guilty. Does a piece of paper give us our rights. No our rights are god given rights unalienable not inalienable as they have lead us believe. Unalienable rights cannot be contracted or given away. sk

Kurds must decide to stay or leave says Iraq oil minister

Baghdad: Iraq’s autonomous Kurdistan region must decide whether it wishes to remain part of the country or form its own independent state, Baghdad’s oil minister said in an interview published Friday.

Abdelkarim al-Luaybi’s strong comments come as Iraq aims to ramp up oil production despite not having passed a hydrocarbons law to regulate the distribution of lucrative revenues from crude sales.

“It’s up to the Kurdistan region to decide whether it has made a strategic decision to stay part of Iraq or it has made up its mind to establish its independent state,” Luaybi told the iraqoilforum.com website run by energy analyst Ruba Husari. Read the rest of this entry »

Iraq Oil-The Forum: Q&A with Iraq Oil Minister Abdul Karim Luaybi on Status of HCL
Posted: December 10, 2011 in Iraqi Dinar/Politics
Tags: Baghdad, Barham Salih, ExxonMobil, Iraq, Iraqi Kurdistan, KRG, kurdistan, Kurdistan Regional government
By Ruba Husari

Iraqi Oil Minister Abdul Karim Luaybi gives the latest on the draft Oil & Gas Law (OGL) and the state of the dispute with Exxon Mobil over its signed contract with the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) in an interview with Iraq Oil Forum editor Ruba Husari in Baghdad.

Q: You were expected to meet with the KRG’s Minister of Natural Resources Ashti Hawrami to agree a draft Oil & Gas Law (OGL) – or Hydrocarbon Law – based on the 2007 draft, that is acceptable to both sides before the end of the year. Have you met?

A: No we have not. The issue goes beyond the OGL law. I expressed my point of view during the meetings with KRG’s PM Dr Barham Salih as well as with Dr Hawrami here in Baghdad, which is that the oil industry is different from all other industries and other sectors.

Twas the Night Before Reval

Twas the night before reval, when all through the house
Not a creature was sleeping, not even my spouse.
The Dinars were laid on the table with care,
In hopes that the news soon would be there.

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of new cars danced in their heads.
And mamma in her snuggie, and I in my drawers,
Had just settled our brains for a long currency war.

When on the computer there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the couch to see what was the matter.
Away to DinarGuru.com I typed with a clash,
opening to the homepage to see the news flash.

The glow of the screen on my laid out Dinar
Gave the vision of dreams I had held at afar.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a flashing notice the RV was here .

The government was seated, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be a trick.
More rapid than eagles they fell all in line,
The IMF had told them "Now is the time".

"Now Maliki! now, Allawi! now, Shabibi and Saad!
On, Mullahs! On, Kurds! on, Ashour and Awaad!
To the top of the basket! to the top of the chart!
Now Revaluate! Revaluate! The RV must start!"

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky.
So up to the top of the forex charts they flew,
With accounts full of dollars, and new millionaires too.

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the tile
The prancing and dancing of my wife gone wild.
As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
I heard my phone ring, a startling sound.

It was my neighbor, who lives down the street,
He is a banker for Chase, and asked could we meet.
A bundle of ideals he had in his mind, of places my riches to put
he could find,
He sounded excited, but I had my plan set in my mind.

His voice how it lifted! He sounded so merry!
His words were like candy, his attitude so cherry!
He promised an exchange rate, without a great spread,
I feared if I trusted my dreams would be dead.

The receiver of the phone, he held tight in his hand,
And I could tell his heart, was beating like a band.
I could imagine his broad face and a big round belly,
That shook when he spoke, like a bowlful of jelly!

He is chubby and plump, like a fat old elf,
And I laughed when I thought about him, in spite of myself!
He asked me to call soon, as he was going to bed,
I thought to myself I have nothing to dread.

I put down the phone, and went straight to work,
I counted my money, then turned with a jerk.
I felt a soft finger aside of my nose,
And there stood my wife in an amorous pose!

I sprang to my feet, and let out a whistle,
And away we flew to our room like the down of a thistle.
The children surely heard me exclaim, as we dove out of sight,
"Happy RV to all, and to all a good-night!"
