Re: Iraq an economic Study
Let's not get too excited about this, but it could be REALLY GOOD! I hadn't thought that Sadr's crew would be at the National Alliance meeting tomorrow, so I just figured it would end with another statement by SLC that Maliki isn't going anywhere, and let's have another meeting. Well, Sadr's boys are still part of the National Alliance, so they get to be there. Here's the snip from the article. When I get a link, I'll post it.

[newmonies] "The National Alliance will hold a meeting tomorrow at the home of President Ibrahim al-Jaafari coalition in the presence of Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki."

[newmonies] This meeting will be the last and decisive with regard to the issue of withdrawal of confidence from the al-Maliki, noting that...

[newmonies] "the Sadrist movement will be present at this meeting, which will end either the withdrawal of al-Maliki for prime minister or the implementation of the demands of the blocks, which calls for the withdrawal of confidence."

Re: Iraq an economic Study
This might be the best sign of an RV we've ever seen, folks.

"The central bank said in his book: in line with the best applications and international experiences, he decided to stop the basic parameters of the currency notes of the categories (25000,10000,5000) JD Almtdolh now as it is in the new series (25,10,5) dinars so that the audience is also imprinted with a thousand in his memory."

Kaperoni:
Reading this, it appears they are leaving the 1,000 in circulation or not creating a replacement. In either case, "so that the audience is also imprinted with a thousand in his memory."

My view is that this is a clear sign of a Revaluation. There is no need to leave a 1,000 dinar in circulation or create significance in one's mind or history if it's value is equivalent to 1 dinar. Just like in the USA, 1,000 dollar bills are still around if you can find them.

It seems the good guys are holding a parliamentary session tomorrow, in Erbil. They're doing laws that SLC has prevented first. The translation sucks, but it seems to be saying they are also going forward with the vote of no confidence.

I still think Maliki caves before it comes to that, but it's good to see our guys playing hardball. Now, if they would just do it...

The source added that "the parliamentary session scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, manipulate the outskirts of Arbil to pass laws had been crippled by a coalition of state law for several months in a move of them to make as much of the achievements will count them," adding that "representatives from the outskirts of Erbil (Kurdistan Alliance and Iraqi forces and the Sadrist movement ) held secret meetings in Erbil, where two days ago, examined the current situation and ensure the insult that must be followed to achieve the desired end to withdraw confidence from the Prime Minister. "
He stressed that "the outskirts of Arbil, I learned from some quarters that the coalition of state law will try to confuse by introducing the subject of withdrawal of confidence from Najafi in addition to the postponement of the hearings, what made her decide to hold an emergency meeting next Tuesday in Arbil under the chairmanship of the House of Representatives Osama Najafi and the presence of 174 deputies to vote to withdraw confidence from the al-Maliki. "

Gonna be an exciting week, y'all. The two sides appear to be softening their positions, Shabibi is going to Bank of Intl Settlements Tuesday and Wednesday, the government is shutting down 44 foreign news outlets, tariffs start Sunday with no indication of delay and encouragement from CBI to implement them, along with CBI saying they're ready to do their currency reform.

You can all come back and make fun of the overly-optimistic noob next Sunday if it doesn't happen, but I say they, at least, get the politics sorted out this week.

Almost there...

6-26-2012 Bluedog: Shabibi really wants to get the Private Sector in Iraq going and this is the only ways and it’s really good for Shabibi to agree with the Tariffs. Seems the Finance Committee and the CBI are working hard to get things in place for the Tariff Law. Also the Finance Committee came out with an article talking about developing trade with the Gulf Trade and the states that have sanctions give a large opportunity for Iraq and opening the trade by land, sea and air. Looks like Maliki has told them all things have been met and he is ready and Sadr is ready to close the toppling of him if the meeting takes place and if Sadr likes what he hears and the Kurds could also be on the same page seems like a lot of this has been discussed behind the scene. We wait for Talabani to come back and this will fly quickly.

Somehow, I knew this was at least partly Obama's fault. Well, here ya go. Maliki is the beneficiary of a sweet Chicago-style community organized PR makeover. Figures, from a guy who campaigned for his commie, Islamo-fascist cousin, Odinga, who, when he didn't win the election for PM of Kenya, started burning Christian churches until they made him president just to stop the violence. Stay classy, Barry the Kenyan.

Actually, I guess I kinda should thank him. If he hadn't tried to keep this boondoggle under wraps, I wouldn't have had time to accumulate nearly as much dinar as I have.

6-27-2012 AINA: Obama's Failed Iraq Policy Threatens U.S. Security. The Obama administration wants Americans to believe their Iraq policy is a success even as Baghdad is heading off a political cliff that favors Iran. President Barack Obama came to office "more interested in keeping his 2008 campaign promise to bring the troops home than the long-term success of our efforts there," said U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.). Obama withdrew most of our troops and advisers in Dec. 2010 leaving that country in bad hands. "Now, the Iraqi leader that the Obama administration supports, Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, threatens to turn the country away from democracy." The senator warns "If Iraq fails; history will find it due in part to President Obama's failed foreign policy there." Obama supporters understand the domestic political risks associated with Sen. Inhofe's warning. That prompted Democratic Party operatives to launch an Iraq public opinion survey to create a positive perception of Maliki, Obama's man in Baghdad. Source

Urgent, urgent ... Maliki rejected a proposal for resolving the crisis Sdria determine his two sessions!!

30/06/2012

Nuri al-Maliki rejected the prime minister and leader of a coalition of state law, a proposal made by the members of the Sadrist bloc spends its mandate to select two for their efforts to resolve the crisis with the rest of the parties,

Said Salman al-Musawi, a member of a coalition of state law and a close associate of Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki said the latter would not agree to his request for the establishment at all, indicating that it is up to the Iraqi people.

Moussawi said that "al-Maliki would not agree to any request by selecting his mandate as prime minister because the issue is contrary to the Constitution and determined by the Iraqi people." He explained that "determine the state determined by the Iraqi people through elections."

The Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki said in a statement after a meeting of the General Authority for the National Alliance is the latter that he leaves his candidacy for a third term for the people's choice, noting if there is a desire for his nomination for another term, he would not reject. The cleric Moqtada al-Sadr has said that he would not agree to renew the mandate of Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki for a third session and the meeting in Arbil had agreed to limit the jurisdiction of the Prime Minister two sessions and only retroactively. He says a coalition of state law that advocates establishing the mandate for two-Maliki only afraid of winning the next election in 2014 after a surge in popularity.

Parliament: government must activate customs law

Saturday, 30 June 2012 14:48
Shafaq News / The Parliament denied Saturday, the information that talked about the government’s postponement of the customs law, noting that the law will become effective from today and the government will be against the law if not implemented.
A member of the parliamentary Finance Committee, Haitham al-Jubouri told "Shafaq News", that "the information that said that the government didn’t work with the customs law is not true."
"The parliament is one that decides to amend the law, the Iraqi government can propose the postponement but with the approval and the ratification on this subject are within the parliament powers."
"There is a proposal by the government to delay working with law, the Finance Committee in the Parliament discussed the subject and did not reach a conclusion regarding the governmental proposal."
"The government parties don’t oppose the implementation of the law but say that it needs almost a year to train their staff on the implementation of the law as well as the existence of logistical needs that will not make it able to implement the law fully,” he added.
"The Finance Committee is still considering the request and if the government really needs to fill the gap in some technical aspects, it will not force the government to implement the law until the completion of procedures."
"The Customs Act will become effective from 6/30/2012 and the government will be against the law if it didn’t implement it,” Jubouri said.
The Iraqi government called the parliament on 28 of April to be patient in the application of the Tariff Act that is due to work with at the beginning of next July for not completing the necessary foundations for succeeding the application of the law, while the representative economy and investment Commission confirmed that it will consider the government request to postpone the customs tariff and will have a stand from it, revealing the benefit of some of the speculators and the neighboring countries from not activating the law.

Below is a quote from someone who saw this piece on CNN, and a direct quote from Blitzer. How in the world are they gonna pay us back a trillion dollars? Either we confiscate the Development Fund for Iraq, which would violate all kinds of international laws, or they RV. Only two ways Iraq ever pays us back. The fact that Blitzer is talking about it has to mean he's gotten the approval from the administration, because this getting out there puts a lot of pressure on Obama, and we all know CNN doesn't ever want to make him look bad.

[tag] Wow,wolf blitzer on cnn just blasted this gov.for still supporting iraq with billions of dollars in aid to help them, when they are sitting on a fifty billion dollar surplus, and they are very nasty to our personel that are still there. He also showed a picture of maliki with the heads of iran and said they were budding (?) to them , it is about time this hits the media with some true FACTS.

[tag] He went on to say that they dont know how to spend the money they have and they are one of the richest nations in the world now and the head of the oversight dept. For the U.S. Operations is looking at the possibility of cutting off that funding..

No original link, but check this out. I may just be misreading it, but it sounds like the Parliamentary Economic Committee is saying they're not behind CBI's plan unless it's an RV. Maybe this is CBI's cover, where they can say, "We were gonna screw everybody, but the government's not on board unless we honor those 3 zeroes, so here ya go...RV."

On the other hand, the guy quoted in the article could be saying something more like, "We think you've got an RV scheduled, and we're not sure about that yet." (Damn Arablish translations. Grrr.) That would be even better, though, because it would mean RV has always been the plan. Najib, the chairman of the referenced committee here, said, just a couple days ago, that her committee is on board with the plan.

{Baghdad, Euphrates News} A member of the Committee of Economy and Investment parliamentary Salman al-Moussawi said the central bank attempts to replace the currency is unconstitutional and will lead the country towards the unknown, which may not be bad consequences.

He continued that "the presidency of the Central Bank and more than a year raises issue of deletion of zeros from the Iraqi currency attributes the reasons to strengthen the Iraqi currency and give them a universal value, but after that the audited subject and we found not a process of deleting the zeros, but replace the currency with full merits."

And the MP for the coalition of state law that "the evidence of this is the change currency symbols present and the introduction of the Kurdish language emphasizes the process it replaced and not delete the zeros," expected to "result in the replacement process to the many problems which may enter the country's currency, forged at a time when we are working to stability of the market leads to the collapse of the Iraqi currency in full. Mediate after the chest, readings reveal ... Maliki in Arbil for a new deal with Barz
A source close to Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki that the latter are going to do a visit to the Kurdistan region to meet with President Masoud Barzani, and the holding of a new deal between them to end the current crisis away from the Iraqi leader Iyad Allawi.

The source said that the leader of the Sadrist movement mediated by the day and come to this meeting between the presidents, which will hopefully be the end of next week, preceded by meetings between representatives side with them in Baghdad and Erbil.

The source speculated that the deal is far from Allawi and his list that are considered by al-Maliki made up of crises does not accept the solutions.

He stressed that the chest and through his representative, who met al-Maliki last Wednesday had told him that Barzani does not mind meeting, but according to the points agreed upon in advance to achieve, whether in Baghdad of Arbil, noting that al-Maliki welcomed the idea as long as they reduce the severity of the congestion that hit the country's political process and reach a crisis to detente.

Al-Moussawi said in a press statement received by the agency {Euphrates News} a copy of it today, "no right to the central bank currency exchange because Article {110} of Dezturalaraca stipulates that the right of the federal authorities to draw financial policies and the issuance of currency in the country means the executive and legislative branches."

He described "the central bank attempts to implement this project early next year, as a unilateral act is valid and is rejected out of hand because it is the process of replacing unknown results."

Sorry for no updates in a few days. There's actually quite a lot going on, but nothing newsworthy just yet. Talibani sent a scathing letter to the National Alliance a couple days ago, where he tells Maliki to get the reforms in place, or he's going to call the no confidence vote, after all. He also continues to support a national meeting, though. Therein lies the problem. National meeting has been on the table for months, but Maliki's group insists on dialogue, while the Erbil 3.5 (Talibani is no longer really included, and Sadr goes back and forth.) want it to basically be a signing ceremony that implements previous agreements.

The parliamentary finance committee and the council of ministers have recently announced they are on board with the CBI's plan, banks have met their capitalization goals, and Shabibi has said lower denoms will come out in January, with dedollarization to tentatively start in September.

We could still see a deal in the next week, but I doubt we'll see any action on an RV prior to Ramadan, which starts on July 19 and ends August 19. Lazy-ass Iraqis just can't quite seem to get it together. My guy, Kaperoni, thinks we'll see something shortly after Ramadan ends, just before the dedollarization process kicks in. He continues to believe, and there seems to be consensus now, among the more serious people in this, that the rate will initially be 86 cents, but will be a managed float up from this "staging rate," as world central banks trade the dinar in what is to be a world pool of dinar.

Oh, yeah. Forgot to mention...parliament is supposed to have minister nominees this week, and rumors abound that Talibani is back in-country.

I love this piece. This guy puts an ass whoopin on ole Maliki. Now, if the MPs would grow a pair, this could be over with. I just wonder if "removed in any way and at whatever cost" includes a drone strike or sniper.

Dismissal of al-Maliki and a national duty

Thursday, July 12, 2012 14:22

Political disarray that pursued by the Iraqi Prime Minister «Nuri al-Maliki» since he took in 2005 confirms two things: either that he was in Bashezovrenya sharp assume the role of two characters contradictory at the same time, a character tends to exclusiveness and limited authorities essential in his hand, and the character calls for political partnership and national consensus and application of the Constitution .And either carry out the agenda for Foreign Affairs «Iranian specifically» and works to achieve its objectives in the region.

***

For example, his contradictory about «Syria» and the sudden shift (180 degrees) from a formidable enemy and an anti-policy of aggression and lasting complaint and dissatisfaction of its repressive not hesitate to submit files to the international forums to prove involvement in the bombings in the Iraqi cities since 2003 to a friend truthful and ally reliable, is tasked to Iran as well as the sudden transformation of a strategic partner to the Kurds is a fierce enemy fighting a bitter struggle with them.

***

Things were no different with the leader of the Sadrist movement often has fought against his supporters a fierce war called «Charge of the Knights» after it was on good terms of political and sectarian fully with him, «said that he is advised to leave Iraq when he felt that the Americans wanted to arrest him under an arrest warrant issued by the Iraqi courts son for the murder of Shiite cleric Abdul Majeed al-Khoei in 2003 »..

***

As a result of this duality in personality, confusion a dangerous path of political and embodies this confusion, particularly in Tanslh continuous and permanent covenants and treaties concluded with the political partners, there is no political bloc and Iraqi figure entered with him in a political deal without exiting empty-handed, empty-handed because of rapid re-entry on promises made by them.

***

It is experienced in this area and a professor in the practice of «pious political» against his opponents, and even with close friends and his comrades in the party, back to show something and bent on something else, show them and their loyalty absolute in public and plotting them in secret and plotting their machinations, as he did with his direct supervisor »Ibrahim al-Jaafari», in the position of left stripped of all party positions and expelled the evil of his expulsion, but intelligently and without malice to raise the ire of one, and later took over the party and became its Chairman in his place. The reminder of this situation the position of another similar to it by the President of the former regime «Saddam Hussein» when he was vice president, against his benefactor and president of the party and the state «Ahmed Hassan Bakr» in the process of coup «white» forced him to step down in favor of him ..

***

If the positions of Srdna «Maliki» Political treacherous are countless.Of these positions he promised «tribal support councils» Armed addressed by al-Qaeda and entered him in a series of fierce battles and managed through the expulsion of this terrorist organization from Iraq, gifts and rewarding high positions. But when it was what he wanted and get rid of al Qaeda he breaks his promise and betrayed by her.

***

As well as the promised Iraqi «Council senior policy» and pledged to give due political security ministries took place in the Convention on thick «Convention on the Erbil» under which he became prime minister », but quickly retracted after it achieved its objectives and exert his authority over the institutions of the state, and started to challenge the legitimacy of Constitutional and to deny her and chasing leaders under the pretext of terrorism!

***

It is more affected by the agreements Phantom of the owners of «Kurds», has received dozens of promises of generous and signatures «on the white» to address their historical and especially the constitutional article 140 to resolve the issue of disputed territories and the issue of oil and gas and other, but they did not catch it is the air and rhetoric deceptive. Did not spare never in the distribution of his promises empty on the leaders and the masses of Kurdish in his frequent visits to the Kurdistan region, but was distributed generously and distributed sweets and candies to children, and Amném a bright future in a democracy «Maliki» but the future and they do not please him good.

***

If the reaction of the leaders opposed to the policy practiced by serious Machiavellian prime minister came late, they realized that allowing the deployment of this model of political bad in Iraq is a crime against the nation and the new democratic experiment and must be removed in any way and at whatever cost.

***

They are determined to solve the big problem suffered by Iraq, which is in Mr. Maliki, in the words of Turkish Prime Minister «Erdogan» solution through a radical questioning in Parliament and then to withdraw confidence from it.

***

Not deviate from this strategic choice whatever the temptations offered by al-Maliki for them to give it up, and are moving to another journey, they are preparing to overthrow patriotic act to be done ..Mohammed and I

These links always suck, but I found it a DinarAlert, and you need a login. Anway, good stuff here. Let's just hope the National Alliance's Reform Committee comes up with a serious proposal. There's been a lot of talk lately about finally getting some permanent ministers seated, which is the biggest piece of Erbil.

[link to translate.google.com]

Member of the Committee announced political reforms, Abbas al-Bayati said the next two days will witness the meetings of the committee with all the political blocs in Baghdad to discuss the paper's political reforms.

He told all of Iraq [where] the day that "the meetings of the political reforms, systematic and ongoing under the chairmanship of the National Alliance, Ibrahim al-Jaafari and will hold workshops as well as hold meetings with all the political blocs in Baghdad during the next two days to arrange the priorities on the paper on political reforms."

Al-Bayati said that "the reform project a serious and credible reform because there is a vision and priorities have been identified."

He noted that "the paper's political reforms will be considered with respect and appreciation for all the papers the previous, including a paper agreement Erbil and benefit from them will not intersect with any paper," noting, "We in the Commission reforms are working to find a common national through all these papers and make the priority reform agreed upon by everyone." .

The National Alliance was announced last Sunday to complete a paper prepared by the reforms committee set up by the reforms of the seven members, indicating that the paper will be put on the rest of the political blocs.

Included paper reforms, 3 points is to invite all political parties to review the situation in the light of the political crisis experienced by the country and to invite the political parties to deal with the call for dialogue positively and put all the files, but on the basis of commitment to the Constitution as well as inviting partners to discuss important issues and find solutions according to the limits of time In addition to the media's commitment to the truce.

And on a draft request to question the prime minister Nuri al-Maliki al-Bayati said that the "draft-confidence or questioning no longer have a presence or impact because everyone will engage in a reform project that the goal of all large and the interest of the political process and the country."

The Iraqi List and the Kurdistan Alliance have announced their intention to apply to parliament to question al-Maliki as a way to pull the other confidence after his inability to persuade President Jalal Talabani, submit a request to withdraw confidence from Maliki to Parliament.
