I wish they would shut it down, but, as always, they don't have the balls for it. Notice no big month-long buildup this time. Two days before it supposedly happens, and almost nobody is talking about it because it's the same boring story it always is now.

Isn't this the thing where they're talking about a trillion dollar spending bill? Man, that'd be so nice to have your very own central bank that will just whip up a trillion vote-buying dollars on a moment's notice. One if these days, the reckoning will come, though, and we're not talking decades.

Great article! Confirms three things we suspected:
1. The 10K and 5K re-print was just a stop gap measure.
2. They will not be printing 50K and 100K notes.
3, Re-confirmation of Saleh's argument that now is the time to start the deletion process.

I agree, but Abadi hasn't really been a person of this year until three months ago. Barzani has been fighting ISIS all year, and he's also responsible for the oil deal, along with Abadi. Abadi could very well be next year's person of the year if he gets the economic reforms passed that have been stalled for over a decade. If he gets that done, he will be personally responsible for the biggest economic miracle since South Korea after the war.

Sure, the thread will die. I don't think there's any pretense from the people here that we're not in this for the money. I care about the Iraqi people the same as I care about all the other people around the world. I don't want to see anybody abused by their governments, but I don't have it in me to be following human rights violations on a constant basis in every country they happen in.

Activate the private sector, and watch the miracle unfold. Sucks that it had to take a collapse in oil prices to force the issue, but whatever it takes...

Araji said, that "the coming period will witness the proceedings would activate this vital sector, and in particular with the economic situation of the country and the decline in oil prices, which had a negative impact on revenues and the general budget for next year."

Very true. If abadi gets the dinar moving, he's got my vote. He WILL be MY man.

So, let me ask this, once the RV comes, if it comes, you people will still monitor and feel compassion for the Iraqi people on a daily bases? Honestly?

More than likely, this thread will die.

I wanna go skiing in Kurdistan. They say it's the Switzerland of the Middle East. Maybe Basra, but Baghdad is still a little dangerous for my taste.

Snake oil salesman. A years ago Iraq said they would start the deletion of the zeros and the introduction of coins and smaller denoms etc. No one listened and here we are a year later and what they said a year ago is coming to fruition. No one wanted to hear what they were saying a year ago because everyone wanted an RV today. lol

I visited Kuwait a few years ago. Stayed with a family for two weeks. Had a great time. It was interesting. They had two maids from India, one live-in. The live-in was paid $40.00 a month! Whatever she made, she sent to her child in India who didn't have a job.. The day I left, I gave her whatever dinar I had left...which was about $50.00.

Re: Iraq an economic Study
So now I get it, with this derivative thing and it now being put on the worlds population to be responsible for, and the big banks saying that they don't want your money, or they will charge you for it, just in time for the RV.

Soon as you cash, sorry exchange, it in and before you can move it to something tangible, the crash is coming and guess were your 10 year investment is going?

Mr. Hoodrats here...rolling eyes and shaking head.
Right....one day you'll just wake up and find that everyone's money is gone. Well, I guess you are on the right site for such an analysis. How many banksters do you figure would be alive at the end of the week after this happened?

Who and what army is going to do that? The big wigs got their money and have had time to invest in other things, where as the little wigs, not so much. Maybe you should talk to the folks in Cypress and see how they fared. But, then again you're right that could never happen here.
