I keep telling everyone that America is a powder keg just waiting to be lit and someone holds the match now.

As soon as I see our government take these allegations against trump seriously, that's when I start getting ready for the end. America will not stand for THEM putting who THEY want into the presidency.
I chalk it up to whining until I read somewhere that our government is even considering doing that.

I think it's gonna go the other way, with prosecutions against Obama's team, but the outcome will be the same. It's just a matter of who fires the first shot.

I'm guessing this means "Old Mosul," but can't be sure yet. There should be a new map out today that will show the extent of ISF progress.

BREAKING: #Iraq's forces stormed the court buildings in central #Mosul. Heavy fighting but the court of appeals seems to have been retaken.

Latest updated map from Ninevah Media Center, hot off the press as of about 10 minutes ago. Major progress from yesterday. They have taken the bridge and continue to make big moves north toward Old Mosul in several districts.

In the medium term, staff encouraged the authorities to consider creating the conditions which would make possible a move to a more flexible exchange rate policy. Such flexibility could allow a predictable and gradual appreciation of the nominal exchange rate, triggered by strong oil revenues and the Balassa-Samuelson effect, to accommodate a possible real exchange rate appreciation while keeping domestic inflation low.”



When you search Wikipedia, you get an explanation for this as…”Balassa–Samuelson (BS) hypothesis implies that countries with rapidly expanding economies should tend to have more rapidly appreciating exchange rates.”

I didn't post it when I heard about the $18 billion IMF/UK/US loan, but it just came out that $9 billion of that is going to be used to fully compensate Kuwait for the 1990 invasion. That was the last piece remaining to get Iraq fully out of Ch. 7 sanctions that have stood for almost 30 years. Huge deal!

Abadi is in Mosul today. They must be about ready to declare victory.

Wikileaks Vault 7 coming out in an hour, and Iraq is almost fully liberated whiled paying off Kuwait today. I think I might just...

I agree. Too much happening at the same time. That loan came out of nowhere, and under their current system, there's no way they'll ever pay it back. The $5 billion, that became $9 billion, from Kuwait, had been deferred for years, and with their budget deficit, would sit there for many more years unpaid if not for this loan. The world will be wanting its money back, and there's no way for Iraq to get there without massive economic growth, growth that will ONLY come with full economic reform, and economic reform means Balassa-Samuelson and a liberated dinar. I bet there's some pretty big strings attached to this money, and I bet they turn on the economy right after declaring victory in Mosul. They need massive redevelopment, the world isn't coming in to do it under their tired old socialist system, and they will never have that kind of momentum again.
