Re: Iraq an economic Study
In regard the new notes, of lower denom.

New notes as in the notes printed by the US or Iraq after the invasion, and of which the lower denoms were never put into circulation because they were basically worthless.

Yes, some do, but they are not in circulation in Iraq and are basically worthless in the market place. So essentially most are sitting in some storage area.

You are either very new to the dinar world or totally ignorant. What exactly would you like a link to.

The fact that the US had printed for Iraq a series of small denoms

Or the fact that they are basically worthless. Do a little math and I'm sure you can see the truth of them being basically worthless for any real world usage.

Why did you come to this thread, to share, or to try and show everyone what a wiz you are. Chill out man. I have been holding Iraqi dinar for 8 years, I have forgotten more than most will ever know in regards dinar. If you want links from eight years of following the dinar, thats is not possible. Sorry. If you don't like my comment just ignore them, because should you continue with your present attitude that is what I will do put you on my ignore list. Have a nice day.TS

Citigroup May Fund Iraq-to-Jordan Oil Pipeline, Official Says
By Khalid Al-Ansary and Nayla Razzouk
July 03, 2013 - Citigroup Inc. (C) is among international banks seeking to finance a pipeline that Iraq plans to build to export crude oil and natural gas through neighboring Jordan, an official at the State Company for Oil Projects said.

The Iraqi government expects to pre-select companies from among 40 bidders vying to build and finance the pipeline from the central town of Haditha to Jordan’s Red Sea port of Aqaba, Nateq Balasem Khalaf, deputy director general of the state-run company, said in an interview in Baghdad.

“Citibank is among the bidders,” he said yesterday. Other interested banks and companies are from Russia, South Korea, Japan, Italy, China, Egypt, Jordan, and Germany, he said.

Iraq, which holds the world’s fifth-largest proven oil reserves, is rebuilding its infrastructure and energy industry after decades of war and sanctions. SNC-Lavalin Group (SNC) is advising the government on ways to build new routes to export oil currently shipped via pipeline to Turkey and by sea through the Persian Gulf.

The new crude pipeline would carry 1 million barrels a day, including 150,000 barrels a day for Jordan’s domestic consumption, and the rest for export, Khalaf said. The gas pipeline would transport 252 million cubic feet a day, of which 100 million cubic feet would be exported to Jordan, he said.

Nagel Says Yuan Has Potential to Become Global Reserve Currency
By Jana Randow
July 03, 2013 - Bundesbank board member Joachim Nagel said the Chinese yuan may become an international reserve currency and that Frankfurt is trying to establish itself as the trading center in Europe.

“Although international use of renminbi does not reflect China’s economic prowess at present, with its increasing convertibility, the currency has the potential to become one of the future global reserve currencies,” Nagel said at a conference in Frankfurt today, referring to another term for the yuan. “Given China’s growing economic importance, the internationalization of the renminbi seems long overdue.”

China’s currency has increased its prominence, a report by the European Central Bank showed yesterday. Between 2010 and the end of 2012, the share of the nation’s trade in goods settled in yuan increased to nearly 10 percent from almost zero. Still, less than 1 percent of all transactions worldwide are currently settled in yuan, Nagel said.

China has promoted its currency internationally since 2009 and last month signed a three-year swap agreement for 200 billion yuan ($32.6 billion) with the Bank of England to foster trading in London. The European Central Bank, based in Germany’s financial capital, may obtain a deal valued at four times that amount, according to lobby group Frankfurt Main Finance. Almost 80 percent of offshore yuan trading is currently settled in Hong Kong.

From Dinar Recaps chat: [link to www.dinarrecaps.com]

[question] Jester But to simply exchange a small note to help with expenses shouldn't need an appointment, correct?

[Jester] UP TO YOU... HAVE NOT ADDRESSED THAT IN SOME TIME.. THERE WAS A ISSUE I WAS ONCE TOLD THAT THEY DO NOT WANT TO SEE LARGE DEPOSITS INTO YOUR ACCOUNT PRIOR TO THE APPOINTMENT OR THERE MIGHT BE A PROBLEM... HAVEN'T HEARD THAT IN A WHILE BUT I AM STILL AWARE OF IT...

[question] Jester Is it your understanding that because of the number of appointments which will be made that getting 100s of thousands of people in to exchange that it may take weeks? BUT that when you call and get an appointment your rate is so-called locked in? Your comments please... Thanks

[Jester] I KNOW THEY HAVE LOTS OF LOCATIONS SET UP FOR THIS PURPOSE... I THINK THEY WILL BE LICKETY SPLIT... THE MAIN THING IS TO CALL AND GET YOUR APPOINTMENT RIGHT AWAY AND GET LOCKED IN...

[question] Jester Got it. Even if the rate changes in-country tomorrow (or whenever) it'll still take several days to process through the system to us, correct? So banking on Monday at the earliest - till forex opens on Sunday?

[Jester] THAT IS CORRECT... CAN'T TAKE EVERYONE ON THE FIRST DAY...

[question] Jester Will the CE for the groups at WF be on the banking side or wealth management? Or does it matter?

[Jester] WILL BE A SIMPLE CASH OUT PROCEDURE... YOU WILL DO ALL THE WEALTH MANAGEMENT STUFF AFTER...

[question] Jester get "locked in" ?? I thought the rate was a flat group rate. When you say locked in are you suggesting that the rate will float in some way or did I misunderstand?

Lock in on appointment time IMO

[Jester] IT WILL BE THE SAME RATE FOR EVERYONE...

[question] Jester How do you see the "Good Guys" educating the general US populaton on what the Republic really is?

[Jester] I HAVE HEARD AN INITIAL ANNOUNCEMENT WILL BE MADE TO BE FOLLOWED UP WITH SHORTER ANNOUNCEMENTS EVERY FEW DAYS....

[question] Jester So calling to make appointment three or four weeks down the road shouldn't be a problem, plus will the rate be locked in at time of call?

[Jester] I WOULD NOT WAIT TO MAKE THE APPOINTMENT... LISTEN TO ME ON THIS... DO IT AS SOON AS YOU CAN... MAKE YOUR APPOINTMENT OUT THERE IF YOU WANT.. BUT MAKE YOUR APPOINTMENT...

[question] Jester can you explain the urgency? If someone waits a few days to make appt, what is the concern please?

[Jester] LOOK... I AM TELLING YOU WHAT I CAN... YOU DO WHATEVER YOU WANT...

[question] Jester well knowing I should make my appt ASAP..should I pay off my reserves tomorrow?

[Jester] I WOULD TRY TO GET THEM BEFORE YOU GO TO THE APPOINTMENT...

[question] Jester I just hope that the emails spell out reserve requirements etc. and vnd c

[Jester] IF A QUESTION IS NOT ADDRESSED SIMPLY ASK THEM WHEN YOU CALL...

[question] Jester I'm just wanting to know.....I have my family all over the place.....they might not get to call for a few days...Singapore, china, the hamptons, Florida....

[Jester] I WOULD TRY TO DO IT WITHIN 7 DAYS IF I WAS YOU...

[question] Jester i would suggest that there may be something addl for those that get right in. Never wait in a situation like this, crisp and clean, take care of it ASAP. They need to listen to you.

[Jester] THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE IN THE PACKAGE BUT YOU NEED TO GET IN LINE... JUST MAKE YOUR APPOINTMENT... DEADLINES MAY BE COVERED IN THE EMAIL AS WELL...

[question] Jester hi what do you advise as far as getting reserves? My dealer will not let me pick them up in person, and having them mailed by Fedex seems insane to me,any suggestions?

[Jester] NOT REALLY... THAT DOES SEEM STRANGE... BUT I GUESS IT IS UP TO THE DEALER...

[question] Jester Hasn't it been told to wait to get the e-mail and follow the instructions and everyone will be fine. Right? ..... grin

[Jester] I DO BELIEVE THAT IS THE BEST WAY TO GO... PRETTY SIMPLE ACTUALLY... IF YOU HAVE A QUESTION ASK IT WHEN YOU CALL...

[question] Jester why e nda if we all get same rate inyo ? hi

[Jester] THEY DO NOT REALLY WANT YOU BLASTING AROUND THE RATES TO EVERYONE NOT IN THE GROUP... HMMMM...

IT WOULD AMAZE ME THAT YOU WOULD EVEN WANT TO CONSIDER TELLING ANYONE WHAT YOU GOT IN THE FIRST PLACE...

[question] Jester exactly and am sure the reason for the NDA

[Jester] THERE ARE ABOUT 1100 LOCATIONS OUT OF THE MANY MORE LOCATIONS THAN THAT WHICH ARE AVAILABLE... THEY WILL DIRECT YOU TO THE BEST ONE FOR YOU...

[question] Jester should we try to go to a wf out of our vicinity for security reasons?

[Jester] YOU CAN TRY... BUT THEY HAVE THIS ALL SET UP TO TRY AND KEEP IT SECURE AND EFFICIENT... THEY WILL DIRECT YOU WHERE YOU NEED TO GO IN YOUR BEST INTEREST...

[question] Jester i am sure that they will direct you to a W Mgmt person is the location you direct,

Jester] I DO NOT REALLY THINK SO... I HAVE HEARD YOU HAVE ABOUT 26 MINUTES FOR AN APPOINTMENT... I THINK THEY INTEND TO CASH YOU OUT INTO AN ACCOUNT AND LET YOU DEAL WITH THE REST OF IT AFTER THE FACT

[question] Jester have you seen or heard of evidence that Iraq has actually paid the debt to Kuwait?

[Jester] WS REPORTED THAT LEW MADE A STATEMENT TO THE FINANCE COMMITEE YESTERDAY THAT IT WAS DONE... WE HAVE NOT SEEN ANY DOCUMENTATION BUT IT COMES FROM A PRETTY GOOD SOURCE...

A lot of info not posted due to being on vacation.

Here are some tidbits:

FYI! XXX just called Dinarcorp and was told they would get the CBI rate/Iraq rate, not the market rate. Then called Dinarbanker/Sterling they go by market rate so they could be more competitive which goes according to market and how it floats that day... The CBI rate is supposed to be the highest rate other than the negotiated WF group rate

Margin call with the highs and lows meant their hi and low amount was set for each currency... the margin was speaking of the highest and the lowest it can go, the parameters that currency can go... all the currencies were sent at the same time and that has never happened before. XXX said bottom rate is 3+ top rate is 11.86....

Re: Iraq an economic Study
Thursday post from TDurden
07/04/20130 Comments

I first want to say It has been a long time since I have publicly posted anything. I also want to make it clear I came back to post to make sure people had their heads up and were excited and prepared for the next part of their lives. I am amazed at how far some of these GURUS have taken things and it is very sad.

So with all that being said I want to give an update on where we are because it seems a lot of people are throwing different ideas and thoughts around. For many years now there have been times at which this was supposed to happen. But of course each time being a let down. We watched UN meetings and agreements being made and bank rumors out the A$$. Many times we would get information from one person that knew a guy somewhere but could never get confirmation, but we were excited. So we kept going, . Now I know most of you are wondering where I am going with this....Well as of Right now, we are closer to being done than we have ever been. We have seen more things happen In the past 2 weeks than we have in 7 years.

We have seen agreements signed, parliament members actually showing up to vote. Iraq getting out of chapter 7, the list goes on. We also have "Intel" being confirmed (which is huge). We have banks really ready, we have the UST making adjustments, we have Basel III getting implemented. We have gold moving all over the world (Do you really think it dropped that much because of the market). We have Iraq having to pay bills right now and wanting to buy weapons, which we saw today. We also have Chapter 7, and for them to get out. They had to agree to RV. So all of this tells me we are within a week, maybe 2 of being done (intel says the same).

Now in regards to the rate. It will not LOP, it will not start low and come up, it will not come out at a teaser rate then RV again. It will also not be a free float. You have to realize this country has to be stable. They do not have a choice. If you just look at contracts themselves, the rates have to be fixed. They also have to be high enough that big investors like hedge and mutual funds can not manipulate it. So a rate of 3.44 makes the most sense. I have always thought above 2.75 however with the amount of resources they have and the money moving around the world right now. 3.44-3.86 makes sense. Now I will also tell you the banks are ready for us. Some more than others but they are ready. So you should all be excited.

I also have some advice for you. In a previous life I was an Financial Advisor and how you handle your money after this will be the most important and difficult thing to do. So what I would like you to do is meet with different advisors, preferably with a CFP. Dont take your friends advice on who is good, meet with several and even if someone has been in the business for years does not mean they are good. It just means they can network well and have some rich golfing buddies. A CFP tells you they have studied to get to where they are. You also want to meet with an estate attorney to set up trusts, many of you will have estate tax problems and you do not want issues for your kids. Meet with a CPA and Tax Attorney. They are different so you will probably need both. And lastly an Insurance advisor, they will all go hand in hand.

I want to finish with this. I have spent almost 7 years talking to many of you. It has been an amazing and difficult ride. I have seen people come and go. I have seen people fight on boards and skype rooms. I have seen people go through horrible real life issues and keep moving forward. But I want to encourage all of you to share and become better people because of this blessing. Money amplifies what type of person you are. Hopefully it will make all of you better people and allow you to make everyone around you better.

Thank you and good luck to all of you

Love
TDurden ;)
