[Adam Montana] If you are just tuning in, Iraq has officially been released 100% from Chapter 7. This is news that some of us have waited a full TEN years for!

[Adam Montana] I've said for years that this is a huge key to our investment... so now one of two things will happen

[Adam Montana] I've long held the belief that the HCL is also a major part of this as well as Chapter 7, so the best thing we can hope for is to see a surprise announcement in the next couple days stating that the HCL is passed

[Adam Montana] however, it does not NEED to happen that way... the rate could change without a full resolution on the HCL

[Adam Montana] if it goes that way, then it is likely that we are NOW within a few days of a rate change

[Adam Montana] I do NOT think it will happen on a day that the banks are closed - that would provide too much opportunity for something to go wrong. The CBI will want to do this on a day that banks are open, because people are going to flood to the banks to cash in, and the CBI must be ready to hold auctions, etc

[Adam Montana] also, they will need to introduce the lower denoms (likely a "new" currency) and introduce a plan to phase out the current dinars

[Adam Montana] so there is a very good chance that the old question of "how long will we have to cash in" will be answered this weekend. My hope... SUNDAY

after YEARS and YEARS of the chapter 7 what is the next milestone by the dinar experts? The HCL probaly as that is the money in iraq..

my guess is chp 7 is nothing.. will be done.. and gone.. and forgotten in a few weeks

Me thinks someone in control does not want the sheep to know what is about to happen.

I keep this one personally pinned, so I wouldn't notice it, but I think it's just the way the site works. Too many people posting about Trayvon, Paula Dean, and Pleidians and gays for little ole Iraq to get much love and stay near the top of the page. Who knows, though? Trinity seemed like he thought it might be for real back about the same time I discovered it, and has backed off since.

Iraq will continue to pay, under Chapter VII, 5 percent of its oil revenue to Kuwait to compensate for war damages. The payments will continue until 2015.

Iraq Oil News: Baghdad and Kurds said to reach agreement on oil development and royalties

After years of sparring on how to divide the country’s oil royalties, Baghdad and the Kurds in northern Iraq are reported to have finally struck a deal on budget allocations, Deputy Prime Minister Rooz Shawees have said.

Shawees said the sides have agreed to distribute the hard cash the country earns from oil sales in light of the population density of its 18 provinces.

Oil revenues make the bulk of Iraq’s foreign cash earnings and the control of oil sales and their royalties has been a thorny issue between Baghdad the Kurds, who enjoy full autonomy in three provinces in the north.

Shawees said Iraq’s oil output has hit a record of 3.15 million barrels a day with at least 2 million barrels earmarked for export.

“Oil is the backbone of Iraqi economy and the foundation for the country’s reconstruction and its economic prosperity,” he said.

The sides have been holding intensive negotiations to solve their oil differences with Baghdad insisting not to relinquish its control of oil development, output, sale and collection of revenues.

But Shawees, who represents the Kurdish regional government in the cabinet, said Baghdad and the Kurds have reached an agreement to put their differences aside.

“The joint efforts between the federal government and (Iraqi) Kurdistan have produced a draft law on oil and gas under which the royalties will be distributed among the provinces in proportion to their population,” he said.

I think it is, calin, but it's just an agreement, not the actual law. Maybe the law gets done when Parliament comes back next week. Thanks for reminding me about that, though. Maybe not such a coincidence Ch7 and HCL getting done at the same time.

He says that is what is stopping the passage.

He thinks that if they pass the HCL before the RV it would present a problem for all of the contracts and the payments to the people of Iraq becuase then everything would have to be altered/amended to reflect the new rate.

He thinks it only makes sense for first the rate to change and THEN pass the HCL to avoid problems with the rate conversion.

So by that logic the very next thing we will see is an announcement of the rate change from the CBI.

I think it's mostly just for post-monetary change banking and investment advice. For example, he's got some bank in Belize that he wants to bring a group to. We've got our own guy like that here in seeker2/talkstory, although I would say his Thailand route is a little, shall we say, unorthodox. Even so, he's probably just as good as anything Montana has. I'm thinking about bringing my small group of friends and family along with tlar's large group to some big bank in Dallas where he knows an exec (I think it's Commerzbank, but he hasn't told me yet) if anybody wants to go a little more conventional, by the way.

PS I'm still coming to visit you in Thailand, though, sk, and I may still take you up on your your plan somewhat, so save me a place on the ponderosa.
