1. Iraq is out of Chapter 7

2. The Central Bank of Iraq on June 9th reported they were starting to work on the plan to base the value of the Iraqi Dinar on GOLD and other items.

3. The Ministry of Planning Web site states that all contracts are to be written based upon 1 IQD = $1.13 but to remember the OFFICIAL exchange rate of the IQD is 1 IQD = $3.22

4. The Central Bank of Iraq put out July 21st 2012 that the new lower denominations would be put out January 1st 2013 but the GOI asked the CBI to wait until JULY 2013.

There is NOTHING more to be done.

We are waiting for the announcement from the Central Bank of Iraq that they are launching a new rate management program for the Iraqi Dinar based upon GOLD and other things.

All of the above is NOT rumor...it is NOT speculation...it is FACTUAL information put forward by the Central Bank of Iraq and the Government of Iraq.

The rate he is giving is the same as what said was possible last night. 11 per dinar.

This is third hand info so treat as a rumor of course.

Also My friends Sister is a friend of a person that works in the local bank in Hxxxxxxxxx Tn. that said they are working on extended hours and must work through the 4th of July.

I did not know that the small banks in that small town did currency exchanges... Maybe they are just preparing for and influx of wire transfers or something.

My friend is going to check it out tomorrow. Again treat as rumor.

Dude, I don't want to go dig that up from last year, but it's there. Doesn't mean they can't delay it again, but they really said it.

In regard the new notes, of lower denom.

New notes as in the notes printed by the US or Iraq after the invasion, and of which the lower denoms were never put into circulation because they were basically worthless.

They weren't announcing an RV a year ahead of time. They said the project to delete the zeros was delayed by a year, which, as you know, can be interpreted as a neutral event.

Folks, the news is real strange so far this week but I have, along with others always believed it would be right before Iraq's currency reform. There are also not a lot of Parliament articles that indicate that the laws we or they need passed are set on their agenda but they have said that they did not want to disrupt the Parliaments flow until the last part of the session because they are so controversial, so that part doesn't bother me at all. Gamaray though did post a very interesting article that spoke of Iraq's Gold Reserves and it is not effected by the global market, matter of fact it says it will be a big supporter of the Iraqi currency!

Yes, some do, but they are not in circulation in Iraq and are basically worthless in the market place. So essentially most are sitting in some storage area.
