Interior announces first-ever UN Security Council rating

The Ministry of the Interior announced on Tuesday that it received an international rating from the UN Security Council's International Arms Control Standards Organization, a remarkable achievement for the first time at the national, regional and global levels.

It is noteworthy that Iraq has recently obtained many classifications and prestigious positions at the international level, which strengthens his position among the countries of the world.

I actually found out about the Dinar back in 2011 by being involved with one of the original prosperity programs. Unfortunately most of those turned out to be scams but technically I've been "waiting", believe it or not, since May of 1993.

I've never heard of this before, but the Trade Bank of Iraq (TBI) apparently got ISO certified today, which is supposed to be a really rigorous international standard, so that makes two big international moves just today.

They're gearing up for economic reform and playing on the international stage. Let's hope they've got it figured out after 14 years.

Seems like they truly are gearing up to go from exotic back into the international community.

Iraq Rises

First you should know that countries coming off of civil wars are very lucrative to early investors. After the brutal civil war in Sri Lanka ended in 2008, the benchmark Colombo All Share index went from a 2008 low of about 1,500 to a 2011 high of nearly 7,800.

This type of move happens with the advent of peace and prosperity. Colombia’s stock market gained about 5,000% after the narco traffickers were soundly defeated. The end of apartheid in South Africa and the fall of the USSR brought similar gains to those countries' stock markets.

Iraq is the fastest-growing country in the Middle East. Its GDP grew 11% last year. Its debt is rated stable at “B”. Inflation is low at 2.2% but expected to go up this year. The dinar is steady and pegged to other currencies.

The private banking sector is underdeveloped in Iraq and could see substantial growth.

When I invest in emerging markets, I look for banks, telecoms, oil plays, and breweries. In Iraq, banks seem to be the best bet. After peace, the foreign direct investment will flow through the banks in the billions.

Everyone at the conference had good things to say about Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi. He seemed to be viewed as able to bring the various fractions together.

If you are looking for a buy on the bottom with huge upside that isn’t correlated to the S&P 500, Iraq is your place.

Iraqi Counter Terrorism Service stormed the al-Nouri Mosque in the Old City of Mosul, Command of "We are Coming, Nineveh" operations announced on Wednesday.

Security forces, backed by International Coalition air raids and logistic support of the US army, have retaken eastern Mosul and most of its western part after six months of battles. These forces are focusing now on controlling the Old City.

It is estimated that there are a few of ISIS terrorists left in the second largest city of Iraq. It is expected that they will desperately defend the last pocket of the city that has been once their main stronghold in Iraq.

Supposedly, they're going to offer Kuwait investment opportunities in lieu of the $4.6 billion they still owe. Kuwait would be foolish to not accept that, at this point. Iraq has already paid them upwards of $50 billion.

Closing that file would also end Chapter 7 sanctions.
