The House of Representatives ended on Saturday, the first reading of the law of the second amendment to the law of the Central Bank of Iraq.
The correspondent of "Al-Ghad Press", that the House of Representatives finished the first reading of the draft amendment to the second law of the Central Bank of Iraq issued by Order No. (56) for 2004 on the Coalition Provisional Authority (dissolved).
The House of Representatives, earlier on Saturday, voted on the decision to prevent the nomination of members of the current Board of Commissioners in the new Council, and the draft law regulating the commercial agency, while voted to amend the law of the emblem of the Republic of Iraq.

URGENT: Abadi will announce “full victory” in Mosul

Mosul (IraqiNews.com) Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi arrived in Mosul Sunday and congratulated Iraqi forces and citizens for victory over Islamic State militants who had occupied Iraq’s second largest city for three years.

Abadi’s media office said he congratulated “the heroic fighters and the Iraqi people for the great victory”.

A few hours earlier, Iraqi government forces advanced in the last few meters held by Islamic State militants in western Mosul.

Shafaaq News website quoted security sources saying the troops took over 50 percent of Qleyat and Shahwan regions, the last remaining areas under IS control near the western bank of the Tigris River which bisects Mosul.

The long-awaited victory in Mosul ends an eight-month campaign backed by a U.S.-led coalition and paramilitary forces which has displaced more than 900.000 civilians. It also means an effective collapse of the Islamic State’s self-styled “caliphate” declared from Mosul’s Old City by the group’s supreme leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

Late June, Iraqi forces took over the mosque where Baghdadi made his famous sermon in 2014 declaring the establishment of the group’s rule in Iraq and Syria.

A few other havens remain under Islamic State control in Anbar, Diyala, Salahuddin and Kirkuk, and are marked as next targets for Iraqi government troops.

The Prime Minister, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Haider al-Abadi, on Sunday, praised the Iraqi people and the fighters for the "great victory" in the city of Mosul.
Al-Abbadi's office said in a brief statement received by Alsumaria News, a copy, that "the commander-in-chief of the armed forces Haider Abadi arrived in the liberated city of Mosul."

He added that Abadi "blessed the heroic fighters and the Iraqi people to achieve great victory."

Abadi said earlier that the declaration of "victory" in the city of Mosul will be very close.

GlobOn behalf of President Trump and the American people, I congratulate Prime Minister Abadi and the Iraqi people on their liberation of Mosul. This is a critical milestone in the global fight against ISIS, and underscores the success of the international effort led by the Iraqi Security Forces.

We honor the sacrifices of the Iraqi Security Forces and Iraqi people, as well as the Kurdish Peshmerga, in achieving this victory, and express condolences for the many lives lost in the operation.

During ISIS's brutal occupation of Mosul, it terrorized and brutally murdered thousands of civilians, used mosques, schools and hospitals as bomb-building facilities and fighting positions and just recently, facing defeat, destroyed the historic al-Nuri mosque and al-Hadba minaret.

Under Iraqi leadership, the United States and our Coalition partners will continue to work closely with the UN to stabilize liberated areas through Mosul, supporting the return of displaced civilians to their homes.

There is still much work to be done to defeat this enemy. The Global Coalition will continue to stand with our Iraqi partners to ensure that ISIS is defeated where it remains in Iraq.
