I miss Shannon Hoon... Most people I know didn't care for Blind Melon but I thought he had the talent to take that band far and beyond...

I'd like to have Cobain back too. Every time I listen to "Come as You Are" I seem to feel a bit of the anguish he was living in.

A lot of people miss this guy. I just never cared for Sublime. He was talented.. no doubt.. Just never cared for his band.

They still were kicking a lot of ass for the years after Burton's death... (arguably less from the Black album - S&M, depending on how you view the music.) Metallica's ultimate death came when Jason Newstead left... Burton was fantastic... Jason was an awesome replacement.... and this new dude, while a good bassist, just doesn't seem to fit... and the music since this new guy joined has been garbage.

I met Jason in melbourne in 1986, (or 88 - god either way long ago) he was actually the only one who stopped to talk to me, Lars just joked I was wet (from the water being spreayed on us) and James shook my hand and meandered on. Kirk signed my jacket, but didn't say much... Jason was the only only one to seem genuinely happy so meet a fan.

So I give him credit for being a top bloke, and trying... but I think after Cliff died, they all lost their direction.

He was the maniac.

Touring in Sweden, the Metallica bus hit a patch of ice and ended up on its side on the road. James, Kirk, and Lars got out unscathed but Cliff was crushed under the bus.

Sadly, the bus the band were touring on, had an accident and toppled over, crushing him...

for his worth, he deserved a true death, but was killed by a slack driver.. :/

You know... someone no one has mentioned here but who I "LOVE" and consider to be a HUGE influence to rock music is Buddy Holly.

Man.. I wonder where his career would have gone had he not been lost in that plane crash...
