Touring in Sweden, the Metallica bus hit a patch of ice and ended up on its side on the road. James, Kirk, and Lars got out unscathed but Cliff was crushed under the bus. Quoting: Roentgen® ;) beaten to it I see :) lol... it's all good. Just glad to see someone else that knows the Metallica history as well! Metal Up Your Ass! (i wish I hadn't have lost that shirt..) |

Cliff Burton. Quoting: bloodcircle Without a doubt my fav band would still be kicking out massive music instead of the drivel they do now. They still were kicking a lot of ass for the years after Burton's death... (arguably less from the Black album - S&M, depending on how you view the music.) Metallica's ultimate death came when Jason Newstead left... Burton was fantastic... Jason was an awesome replacement.... and this new dude, while a good bassist, just doesn't seem to fit... and the music since this new guy joined has been garbage. Let me tell you something,Robert Trujillo is far more talented than that band needs... Go listen to some Infectious Grooves or Suicidal Tendencies and say that.Secondly do you think for a minute Robert writes any of the music? Thirdly that band died musically when Cliff left this mortal coil... You stand corrected... |

I can't really choose between Hendrix and Cobain. Both had limitless talent and so much more left to do with their lives. Her lips were red, her looks were free, Her locks were yellow as gold: Her skin was as white as leprosy, The Night-Mare LIFE-IN-DEATH was she, Who thicks man's blood with cold. - Samuel Taylor Coleridge, "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner" |

MY GOD... how did I forget about Layne?! Damn I miss some classic Alice in Chains... "Bleed the Freak" still is one of my favorite songs. Yep, love that song too.... and I definitely miss Layne. Recently, I was able to talk my girlfriend into using Layne as our baby daughter's middle name. :-) |

I've been able to see all of my favorite bands in concert with the exception of Alice in Chains, Green Day (yes, love them or hate them... they are catchy and influential), and R.E.M. (yes.. god damnit... I LIKE R.E.M.) |

I'm pretty sure it was the last show he ever played with them. Kansas City- July 1996 when they opened up for Kiss. |
