that is a pretty damn long time to wait for a piece of bread... just sayin'

if i knead it can i eat it quicker??? if so, what exactly is 'knead'? I heard the expression once while driving through amish country, but...1dunno1

Yes, if you're willing to add less water and more yeast and knead the dough, you can eat it in a little over 2 hours. This is the recipe I first started with and will be my SHTF dough because of it's lack of ingredients + time. I do have a Kitchenaid mixer that I've decided to put to use though, and now do a variation of this recipe a few different ways but I add more yeast (rapid rise) along with some sugar to help speed the process along, and do not add as much water. The texture of the bread is a bit different though, but still absolutely wonderful!

I also add oil to my recipe, as the downside to this original is that even if you seal it, it will dry out very fast and become as hard as a rock.
