I use the NOW brand. There may be others. 2 organic dates or one organic Medjool date, soaked 15 minutes or so 2 RIPE organic avocados 1/4 C Organic Honey or Organic Maple syrup 1/4 - 1/2 C of water. NOTE: I would slowly add the organic honey or maple syrup until it is to your taste (I prefer less sweet and the amount given above is an approximation since I do not measure it). Honey gives a more neutral flavor than maple syrup. NOTE: Avoid Agave or other processed, refined sweeteners. Honey and maple are products of nature. Agave syrup has to be manufactured, even if it is organic. NOTE: If your honey is raw and thick, you may thin it slightly with pure water (reverse osmosis or Berkey) until its manageable. Put all the ingredients except honey in the food processor and blend until smooth. Drizzle water into the food processor until the pudding is the right consistency. Now sweeten: slowly add honey until just right. There is really nothing to this. It all just goes into the food processor. Process until completely smooth. Then eat or refrigerate. Notice this has no dairy products. You won't even miss the milk. A thicker version (omitting some of the water) could be made for brownies using a dehydrator. |

The night before: In your slow cooker add the dried beans, water, garlic, and bay leaves. Cook on low overnight. (If your 1 1/2 quart slow cooker does not have a low/high setting then it should run on low.) In the morning: Add the Cajun seasoning, liquid smoke, and Tabasco if using and 1/4 to 1/2 cup of water depending on how long you will be gone for the day or if they just look to dry to cook all day. You can cook these a very long time if you just add extra water, so they are good for days you know you are coming home late. Before serving: Taste and adjust seasonings and add hot sauce, and add salt if needed. Serve over brown rice with vegan sausage or grilled tofu if desired. A side salad helps balance out the meal. Also, the soy in the 'sausage' or tofu will most likely be GMO unless you can ascertain from the manufacturer to the contrary. For someone who is really trying to get away from GMOs, avoid as much as possible any processed condiments or food items. If there is a condiment you really like, it is probably worth contacting the manufacturer to determine if the product contains any GMOs. You can always also try to 'create' your own version of the condiment from scratch, using organic ingredients. |
Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 1533059 United States 12/13/2011 10:44 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Here is another recipe, for a 'mock' tuna that is really quite good. Sunflower seed 'pate' (tastes like tuna but better) 1 C organic raw sunflower seeds 2 organic dates Himalayan salt, to taste 3 ribs of organic celery, chopped 1/2 of a medium organic onion, chopped 1/4 C Water (more or less) Organic fresh squeezed lemon juice, about 1 tablespoon Soak sunflower seeds and organic dates for one hour in pure filtered water. If you like a very smooth pate, soak the sunflower seeds overnight. Process the sunflower seeds, dates, and salt in food processor. Add the lemon juice. Then slowly add 1/4 C filtered water, making sure not to add too much, using more than 1/4 C if needed. If you soaked the seeds overnight you will not need as much water to make the pate, so you much trickle the water in through the feed tube. Don't pour it in all at once! (Also can adjust the pate by adding more lemon juice, according to your taste.) Slowly add in the salt. At first, 1/2 of a tsp. If not salty enough, add a tiny bit more until its to your taste. Blend until its smooth, a few minutes. The dates really make a difference, even though this would not seem obvious. Now transfer the pate to a bowl. Mix together with the celery and onion. Adjust salt and lemon if you need to but should be fine. Make a sandwich out of this. Goes well with/on lettuce, tomato and some sort of bread or cracker. Tastes much better than possibly radioactive tuna. :] |

Sunflowers,(broad leafed plants from this genus) are used for phytomediums to absorb radiation from the soil and water. Dates from the west coast US and all fruit, being pectin rich is contaminated too. It isnt just about eating organic, it is about finding uncontaminated food. Radiation will kill you quicker than GMO, but they are both poison. Where do you shop OP? |

But seriously, it's so hard to find food not grown on the west coast. Go to the health food stores for organics and almost everything is washington and California. Southern Hemisphere food has gotten little radiation but there is little organic food from the southern hemisphere! What are we supposed to eat, if we don't grow it indoors ourselves? |

As a Christian I can't accept it at this time and return it to you. As for where I shop it is an Amish market. I will try to respond better when I get home. It is true that food can be contaminated and the only answer to that since things are much worse than i thought, is to pray. Some threads seem to indicate that even organic labels cannot be trusted. That link about McDonald's meat really totally shocked me and gives one more reason to avoid meat: Thread: McDonald's Serving up Sacrificed Children??? Yes....I knew of these things but it is SO horrific. I mean the video link. |

ITs the nut and bean allergies that kill us when we try some vegan/paleo diets.. I have grassfed ethically treated meat, which i am sure has radiation, but better than the soy/corn fed meat that is out there. sad world that there is so little to eat that is safe. |

Fluoride? It gets into just about everything because it is the most reactive element with its highly negative charge. Ditto radioactive particles. Radioactive particles are chemically attracted to all sorts of things because of their highly positive charge. Unless you are capable of dna analysis of what you eat or have a spectrum analyzer to determine the elemental/isotopic content of your food, you can be vigilant, which is certainly in order, but you can't possibly avoid all toxins and poisons. You just can't... You can remove most radioactive contaminates from your body that were absorbed through the air and minimize the effects of the ones otherwise consumed by taking supplements like strontium, calcium, magnesium, chlorella, iodine and boron. Try to minimize how much radioactive elements you ingest by eating food from the south hemisphere, drink only reverse osmosis water and avoid ingesting anything from west of the rocky mountains period. We can't avoid breathing it but we can render it inert on a daily basis. There is a lot of good information out there. Avoiding GMO's also makes us more genetically resistant to radionuclides and less likely to get cancer. |
