It's a tough gig, no matter what. I'm torn, my son died at 18 and I miss him.

If I could start all over with no memories of him, would I do it again - maybe not - especially not in this time in history and culture.

My 6yo son is a dream child. It's the 4 yo girl who is the devils spawn.

I am honestly enjoying the teen years. The toddler years were the hardest for me.

Yes, me also...has to be the worst thing imaginable....

So sorry. And I believe if I had it to do over right now with no memory of my kids that I would probably pass because of how the world is now. It sure has gotten bad pretty fast since my kids were small with no let up in sight.

What makes parenting even worse is when other people who are not the parents try to interfere in your parenting and undermine it.
People like the state and schools and other family members.

Wait until she is 13.5 and decides its now time she is your parent and tells you what to do, and there is nothing you can do about it.

I knew it would be tough going into it. Kids talk back and in this day and age you can't spank them (I have a 14 year old boy and 10 year old girl), or get your mouth washed out with soap as I did as a kid.

But all in all, still unconditional love.

In this day and age you can not even yell at them or you will have swat teams kicking down your door and abducting them and arresting you for emotional/psychological abuse.
But then the teacher at school is still allowed to yell at them to the point they come home with a headache, and its not even her kid.

My son is 6 too :) I have heard this before about the girls and how they can be a handful lol Hang in there honey...

Parenthood can be traumatic, especially in the pre-teen/teen stage of things. Parents aren't the only influence on the kids and the messes they can get into are costly and ulcer-producing.
I thank my lucky stars I'm past that (almost) and, like others, I wouldn't recommend bringing kids into the world such as it is, for their own sake.
What kind of life will they endure?
People have all kinds of reasons for wanting to have children, but they'd be smart to consider the fate of those children first.

My children are everything to me. The absolute best thing ever to happen to me by far. Life is not worth living without them. Life is meaningless without them.
