the thing is he doesnt explain why he does not like blck ppl. he expresses his dislike of affirmative action - and i have to agree affirmative action is debatable.

He was alright in saying it, but he didn't follow it up my defending it very well. It basically just came off as sounding ignorant I guess.

Look man...I know the frustration first hand! Wanted to become a fireman right out of high school...tested with high scores but lost the opportunity because I was white...Captain actually walked me outside to apologize and told me that if I was a minority I'd have the job! And yes, I got beat out by a "minority" guy that had lower scores! That was in 1983 - have experienced the exact same thing over and over again throughout the years! Yeah, it freaking pisses me off, but, I refuse to miss dealing with a good man because of his skin color! Check the Chris Rock vid above - a lot of good people out there! BTW, if I'd been hired as a fireman back then...I'd be set and retired by now - that was a massive and crushing blow that affected the whole of my life!

This issue is brought up from someone who knows his culture and wasn't the result of slavery actions. I was always wondering why my mom who is black and I am lightskinned would bring up race relations and such. Now that I am older and have spent much of my life intermingled with all races, I see what she means.

In all the white, hispanic, Asian etc families they have an identity. We blacks as a race has been raped by every owner there was too the point where I don't identify with my own African race and culture.

If you don't have something to identify with you are doomed to be resentful, angry, etc.

Look at it in this view please. Because, when I go to my friends house culture is all around them and taught to them. Ours was destroyed as soon as we were brought here in chains.

You are doomed ONLY by your own choice!

Quit with the victim-hood mentality - grow a pair of balls and do the best you can! As a white guy that grew up in CA I was *raped* by affirmative action but *chose* to not let that define me!

BTW - if you want culture - go for it! Head over to Africa! I've been there and I'd bet you wouldn't want to leave the airport before you'd want to turn around and head back to the states!
