I am very close to an Albanian family. They are Christian and really don't care for Muslims. They came here legally, worked hard, and in four years were citizens and had saved enough to buy a nice home. They speak of their history against the Turks, and also living through the fall of communism in the early 90's. They are so grateful that they are in America and have the opportunity for a better life. I would have no trouble standing next to them for whatever doom may come our way. They probably would handle it better than most other people.

As history would tell you,albanians have always had problem before th 19th century with barbarians, slavs, turks, romans, etc etc, and we always over came them...

Today, we are albanian, with our own langauge, our own culture, and most importantly, blood which does not originate from any other peoples, truly unique!!

I jsut wanna add one more thing. Its not like back in the day, generals had maps of europe which they could plan strategic invasions of countries. Back then, they had word of mouth if you will, and this was before the print age really, sort of, so how could they really know that Albania was not that strategic to get to rome. But, I guess back in the day, as historians would tell you, Albania must of been, as the ottoman empire used it, and they couldnt get but an inch towards rome because of albanians.

Ottoman Empire wasnt Turkish as many of you think.Even there were no concept of being Turkish till the 1920's(jacoben takeover of anatolia).Ottoman sultans were mostly of European decendent due to foreign marriages.Ottoman Empire was a multicultural nation and anatolians were just one of the subjects of that empire.

Culture of ruling class was mixture of Greko-Persian.Thats because founders of Ottoman Empire were Persian influenced(both by culturally and both by racially) west asian/near eastern people and when they takeover anatolia they mixed their persian culture with Rum culture(or eastern Roman culture).
