Just think how they would flourish with all the CO2 being pumped on them too! |

Back when I was a kid most people in my neighbourhood had fruit trees in their yards, you could have a fruitsalad by walking around it. Quoting: teraustralis I have my little vege patch in the backyard, but to have the fruit & veges along medium strips & nature reserves would be fantastic. I think we should all just start this in our communities- time is ripe I hear of groups like this popping up everywhere, on a small scale but still |

With imports of oil cut by more than half – and food by 80 percent – people were desperate. This film tells of the hardships and struggles as well as the community and creativity of the Cuban people during this difficult time. Cubans share how they transitioned from a highly mechanized, industrial agricultural system to one using organic methods of farming and local, urban gardens. [link to video.google.com] |

The hippie kid guest's solution was to teach the gang kids how to "grow their own root vegetables." Of course it was meant as a joke, a stupid idea from a stupid liberal. But here we are... I almost can't believe this story is true. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 822476 United States 12/16/2011 10:09 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | There was a story from a few years ago here in the States where a prison implemented a new program in which they replaced the inmates' meals with something akin to an 80/20 diet, heavy on fresh fruits and veggies. What they found surprised them as the inmates' behavior actually improved- fewer fights, misbehavior etc. as if everyone was calmer. The difference was significant. |
