You want a job? There are TONS of jobs for senior I.T. people right now. Many cities have < 1% unemployment in this area.

You retards didn't study hard in high school, wouldn't take the challenging course work in college, wouldn't pay the price of long hours / low pay to gain the practical experience and NOW you grumble because your low skilled asses can't find work.

My company has over 40 (FORTY) unfilled positions. The catch is that you need to be SKILLED and EXPERIENCED.

Those of us who busted our asses and compete DAILY with Chinese and Indian workers have NO PROBLEM finding work. Heck I work 80+ hours a week (and am paid very well per hour)..I could work even more hours if I so desired.

So go get an intern position somewhere and LEARN. Sacrifice and STUDY. BEG to get into an I.T. shop, even if all you do is clean out PC's and sweep the floors. Go to night school, even 1 class per semester (You can scrounge up $200-$300 every 4 months).

I talked with a CEO of a fortune 100 company not too long ago..he told me that there are over 1 MILLION empty I.T. positions in this country.

Many firms are moving AWAY from outsourcing..the Indian and Chinese firms end up costing just as much and more often than not steal the intellectual property. You trade programmers for project managers but the money stays the same so why bother?

The trend is accelerating. We're SWAMPED by big firms trying to move development back "onshore".

Americans spend too much time watching MTV and not enough time reading and WORKING. Even and A.S. degree and a couple years interning will get you a decent job RIGHT NOW.

So toughen up, eat some ramen noodles and live with 6 people in the house and GET THE EXPERIENCE.

Ok , But I.T. isn't the end all. I'm a plumber with 25 years in the business. my phone rings maybe 3 times a year since Obama was elected . been hunting a job for nearly that long.

Been looking for work since 12/31/2010. Jobs exist, but getting one when there are millions who don't have one either is lousy odds. The number of people who don't have jobs, who've been on unemployment for 10 or more months, is at the highest level in US history. This coupled with billion dollar budget cuts in various states like Nevada and California is going to make the situation even worse than it is now. Real unemployment is between 18 and 25 percent, which is approaching Great Depression era numbers! Big trouble!
