Just something to 'think' about...the mormons were told this too, to prepare and then later, they come out with a bill including more than 7 days food supply you could become a suspect now. And we are currently watching the two cabals, in the world, duking it out for the top NWO spot to come. They are all turning on each other, or they are depleting the underlings no longer of any use to them. Just thinking.

Department of Homeland Security chief Janet Napolitano has directed ICE to prepare for a mass influx of immigrants into the United States, calling for the plan to deal with the "shelter" and "processing" of large numbers of people.

"The Department of Homeland Security wants a plan to deal with sudden mass migrations of immigrants to the U.S.," reports Government Security News.

"DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano, according to a statement by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, recently directed ICE to develop a national-level mass migration plan. The plan will outline how to address the health care, sheltering, processing, transition and disposition of large numbers of undocumented individuals who might arrive in the U.S. as the result of a mass migration, said ICE on Dec. 13."

Yeah the report on the ICE press release sounds like a perfect opportunity to open up the "illegal immigration" camps. Of course, if we're declared enemy combatants, then we essentially might lose out citizenship, and be tossed into "temporary holding facilities". I can see that they might initially open them to rounded up illegal immigrants, but they might also put in convicts due to overcrowding and state budget cuts, or start debtor camps, or start work camps like they did during the Depression (the CCC) for rebuilding infrastructure. The "workers" of unemployed or underemployed might live there and "rebuild America" in essentially gulags.

It all depends on what's ahead! Bugging out may be the ONLY way to survive for some.

Am I the only one who thought it strange that we now need passports to LEAVE this country? I can understand the crackdown on people coming into this country what with terrorism and all. But why do they want to stop us from leaving this country?

If I had the money and a place to go I would get out now while there may still be a chance to do so. Where? Any place where I couldn't be found but could still ride things out. I don't even know if there is such a place but if I knew of a way to just drop out of society and disappear I would seriously considering doing so.

I don't know how bad things will get or when but in a worse case scenario we could possibly be looking at a situation where there wasn't enough food or resources to support the population of this nation. Do you honestly think they would let EVERYONE starve? What if they decided to weed out some of the undesirables to ensure the survival of a few others? They might start with the elderly or the disabled, ones that they might consider disposable. If that WERE to happen, it's anyone's guess as to how far they'd be willing to go.

Just my opinion! Not saying that things would ever get to that point but I do think it is a possibility.

Read through that topic, as I try to address your concerns there concerning bugging out versus bugging in. There are specific things you can do for either, and red flags that will help you determine whether you should bug in or out.

Try to stay calm and think rationally. While we have had seriously bad times economically, or terrible times with pandemics, or the Civil War, or major race issues, still the USA has been historically a fairly safe place to live. Prepping and having skills will give you an edge. Sure it could become like the worst purges and gulags of the Stalin period or Maoist China, but I doubt it.

I cover in detail the major concern of carrying capacity. You are quite correct about it, and I have devoted many paragraphs about it in the other thread. It's clear that from a major event that the land will only support about 10% of us. We'll have to pray that doesn't happen, but having preps and knowledge and wisdom will give you an enormous boost.

Regarding "muster", that's a very old European word dealing with raising up troops, usually from nontrained folks, but often used today for a gathering of soldiers.

The best type of prepping deals with imagining a scenario logically and methodically, and imaging how you would cope realistically. I talk about that too over at that topic, but the horde that you fear is typically poorly directed and fearful. Yes, you can be overrun, but for example in the London riots, the rioters didn't take over, but were repelled by citizens who took whatever was available, like baseball bats, to protect themselves. There is strength in organizing a force to repel invaders and organizing your community. That's how villages sprang up historically, another thing I cover at that link.

They seem to want to get a handle on who will, (will not?) be prepared for some 'unspecified' coming 'event'?

I read today that our government has declared the Zeta Drug Cartel to be terrorists. It made me wonder whether our gov is buddies with some of the competing cartels, and if a war will break out over it. I found it odd they singled out the Zetas only.
