Hygeine is an individual thing. I wouldn't be with someone who wasn't immaculate. How it LOOKS??? Well all the porn star comments are complete BS.... an uncircumcised penis, when erect, looks exactly the same except it has these wonderful little ridges right below the head. (this is the sensitivity part for the girls) The erect state also exposes the "helmet" ya'll are so fond of.... since this is usually covered, it is different than the head of a circumcised man, it is softer kind of like the inner sanctum of a woman. because it has been protected by the foreskin. Personally I could care less, but when I was married to a circumcised man, I thought it was less desirable too. I must have been indoctrinated to be like most of ya'll in my opinions. Now, I am a changed woman. BUT I'll add this... if this man that I love soooo much were circumcised, I would love him and his parts just as much. With circumcision, the baby has no say over his own body. Isn't that a big bone of contention with jewish people, regarding abortion ("No one can tell you what to do with your own body")? Why do they make an exception in the case of circumcision? Circumcision is the genital mutilation of a defenseless child in the name of a jewish fairy tale. Supporters argue, "But it's an ancient, religious tradition going back millennia." So was animal and human sacrifice. Should we allow that, too, simply because it was once the standard? Grow up, people. Quit living in fairytale land. First, you cut the foreskin off a baby. Next thing you know, you'll be claiming a god promised you a land in the eastern Mediterranean for you to settle on (no matter who was there first). Oops! Too late.

I'm circumcised, too. But don't you think it would've been nice if you'd had a say in the matter? We were raised in a society where that's believed in by some and tolerated by most, so we don't think too much about it. Maybe we should. Think about the extremes to which religion, in this case the jewish religion, has taken us -- mutilating the genitals of baby boys, and fighting wars and killing innocent people because in this "belief", you were "given" this land by a god. If you'd never heard of the Old Testament and judaism and you learned about it one day as an adult, you'd think it was absolutely nutty. And it is. We're comfortable with things we're familiar with. That doesn't mean those things are good or right. And the reason I use judaism as an example is because the topic is circumcision, and because judaism is the "father" of the 3 "religions of the book".

You are correct that circumcision originated with the ancient Egyptians; not the Hebrews. Yet another thing jewish people stole (besides the land, and the term "semite", of which they're merely about 5%; not to mention Yiddish which is a butchering of the german language). There's a hieroglyph showing the ritual of circumcision in one of the ancient Egyptian temples. It has been theorized that male circumcision was done by the ancient Egyptians to facilitate their sacred sexual temple rituals. This makes the most sense. Prior to Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, many ancient religions worshipped what makes most sense to worship -- life, the sun (the giver of life), the human regenerative process (SEX, for those of you in Bakersfield), etc. The justifications for it since then are merely ignorant people trying to justify barbaric genital mutilation of male babies.

If circumcision prevents AIDS, why is the AIDS rate so much lower in Errope, where circumcision is not common, compared to the US, where over 70% of sexually-active males have been circumcised? That makes it look as if circumcision encourages the spread of AIDS. The same goes for all the other maladies circumcision is supposed to prevent, which are rare in Europe.
