Because it wasn't a comet...it was a spaceship passing by our sun in order to charge its batteries. Nothing could survive passing THAT close to the sun...NOTHING!!!. You don't need to be a scientist to realize that. Our imaginations are tricked into thinking the impossible IS impossible. Fuck that shit!
What scientists saw come out on the other side of the sun was a modified trajectory of a ship that whipped around our sun, collecting energy, and continuing its journey to some far off system.
